Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with strong hands-on expertise in Java, Python, and AI-enabled software engineering. The architect will define scalable application and platform architectures, guide engineering teams, and accelerate delivery through GitHub Copilot and agentic AI practices. The role combines enterprise architecture, modern application development, cloud-native engineering, technical governance, and customer-facing advisory responsibilities.
Proven experience with GitHub Copilot and agentic AI solutions is mandatory. Exposure to GitHub administration and at least one major cloud platform is preferred.
Key Responsibilities Architecture &
- Technical Leadership
- Define end-to-end solution architectures for enterprise applications and digital platforms using Java, Python, APIs, microservices, event-driven patterns, and cloud-native services.
- Create architecture blueprints, reference patterns, technology standards, non-functional requirements, and implementation roadmaps.
- Lead technical discovery, architecture reviews, design decisions, proof-of-concepts, and engineering governance across the delivery lifecycle.
- Provide hands-on technical direction to development teams, resolve complex design challenges, and ensure alignment with security, performance, scalability, resilience, and maintainability goals.
- Assess existing application landscapes and recommend modernization, re-engineering, integration, and migration approaches.
Java Engineering
- Architect scalable Java solutions using modern Java, Spring Boot, RESTful services, microservices, messaging, persistence frameworks, and automated testing practices.
- Define standards for application layering, API design, exception handling, observability, configuration, dependency management, and secure coding.
- Guide performance engineering, JVM optimization, concurrency, distributed transaction patterns, and production troubleshooting.
- Promote reusable frameworks, engineering accelerators, and quality gates for enterprise Java delivery.
Python &
- AI Engineering
- Architect Python-based services, automation components, data-processing workloads, AI integrations, and intelligent developer tooling.
- Design modular and production-ready Python solutions using appropriate API frameworks, testing practices, packaging standards, asynchronous processing, and observability.
- Define solution patterns for integrating large language models, enterprise data sources, retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, and AI-enabled workflows.
- Guide model and service evaluation, prompt design, grounding, responsible AI controls, quality validation, security, operational monitoring, and cost-aware implementation.
- Collaborate with data, security, platform, and product teams to transition AI prototypes into governed, supportable production solutions.
GitHub Copilot &
- Agentic AI
- Lead adoption of GitHub Copilot across Java and Python engineering teams, including use-case identification, enablement, workflow integration, coding standards, and measurable adoption outcomes.
- Design and implement agentic AI workflows that can reason over context, invoke approved tools, coordinate multi-step tasks, and operate within defined human oversight and security boundaries.
- Establish patterns for AI-assisted coding, code explanation, refactoring, unit-test generation, documentation, code review, troubleshooting, and software delivery automation.
- Define guardrails for prompt handling, sensitive data protection, access control, auditability, human-in-the-loop approvals, responsible AI, and output validation.
- Evaluate Copilot and agentic AI solutions through structured pilots, engineering feedback, quality indicators, productivity measures, risk assessments, and continuous improvement plans.
DevSecOps, Platform &
- Cloud
- Define CI/CD, build, test, security, release, and deployment patterns for Java and Python workloads using GitHub-centric engineering practices.
- Promote Infrastructure as Code, containerization, Kubernetes, automated policy enforcement, software supply-chain security, and environment standardization.
- Architect deployment models for public cloud, private cloud, hybrid, or multi-cloud environments based on business and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with platform, SRE, operations, and security teams to establish monitoring, logging, tracing, reliability, recovery, and operational support standards.
Stakeholder &
- Delivery Management
- Partner with customer stakeholders, product owners, enterprise architects, security leaders, and engineering teams to translate business needs into implementable architecture.
- Facilitate architecture workshops, technical assessments, solution walkthroughs, and decision forums.
- Prepare architecture documents, diagrams, solution options, estimates, risk registers, technical proposals, and executive presentations.
- Support pre-sales, solution shaping, effort estimation, delivery planning, technical interviews, and capability development.
Required Qualifications &
- Experience
- 12+ years of overall IT experience, including substantial experience in solution architecture, application architecture, technical leadership, or enterprise software delivery.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Java and the Spring ecosystem, with experience architecting enterprise applications, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Solid Python experience for application development, automation, AI integration, or data-processing solutions.
- Demonstrated experience using GitHub Copilot in software engineering workflows and enabling its adoption across development teams.
- Demonstrated experience designing or implementing agentic AI solutions, including tool integration, orchestration, grounding, guardrails, and human oversight.
- Good understanding of generative AI, large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, prompt engineering, evaluation, responsible AI, and AI security considerations.
- Experience with software architecture principles, design patterns, API management, event-driven architecture, relational and NoSQL data stores, caching, messaging, and integration patterns.
- Experience defining CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, code quality, security scanning, observability, and release governance practices.
- Strong communication, consulting, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to technical and business audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to GitHub administration, including enterprise or organization settings, repositories, teams, permissions, policies, branch protection, rulesets, integrations, APIs, and governance.
- Exposure to GitHub Actions, GitHub Advanced Security, reusable workflows, self-hosted runners, and GitHub platform automation.
- Experience with at least one cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tools, and cloud-native application platforms.
- Experience in application modernization, platform engineering, internal developer platforms, developer experience, or large-scale technology transformation programs.
- Knowledge of identity and access management, secure software development, threat modeling, compliance controls, FinOps, and AI cost governance.
Preferred Certifications
- GitHub Copilot certification.
- GitHub Administration, GitHub Actions, or GitHub Advanced Security certification.
- Cloud architect or developer certification from Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Java, Kubernetes, security, or architecture certification such as TOGAF, where relevant.
