We are seeking a detail-oriented Solar Design Engineer to join our technical team. This role focuses on the end-to-end design process for rooftop and ground-mounted PV systems. The ideal candidate will be proficient in ARKA (Solar Labs) and AutoCAD, moving projects from initial site assessment to final execution drawings and DISCOM approvals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Engineering
- Develop detailed 2D/3D site layouts and structural plans using AutoCAD.
- Utilize ARKA (Solar Labs) for system sizing, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and Single Line Diagrams
(SLD).
- Conduct Shadow Analysis and energy generation estimations to ensure system efficiency.
- Perform string calculations, inverter selection, and DC/AC cable sizing.
- Technical Documentation
- Design Earthing and Lightning Arrestor (LA) layouts in compliance with safety standards.
- Prepare comprehensive Execution Drawings for on-site installation teams.
- Manage material planning and ensure BOQ accuracy to prevent project delays.
- Compliance & Coordination
- Prepare and review documentation for Net-metering and DISCOM/Tata Power approvals.
Coordinate with the site team to ensure installations align strictly with design specifications.Review
Module Mounting Structure (MMS) drawings and provide technical support during commissioning.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy.
- Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of AutoCAD and ARKA (Solar Labs) or PVsyst.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of DC/AC electrical components, earthing systems,
and MNRE/DISCOM guidelines.
- Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on experience in solar PV design (residential or commercial rooftop experience is highly preferred).
- Soft Skills: Solid documentation skills in MS Excel and the ability to communicate technical requirements to non-technical site teams.
Preferred Attributes
- Prior experience with Site Surveys and physical measurements.
- Familiarity with the latest Net-metering regulations and utility liaisoning.
