Job Title: Software Engineer – AI/ML

BASIC PURPOSE:

The Lead Software Engineer – AI/ML is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models and applications with the AWS setting. The role's primary focus will be on leveraging AWS services to build scalable, robust, and efficient machine learning solutions that address complex business challenges using data science techniques.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers, to define and develop machine learning solutions that meet business objectives.
- Design, implement, and optimize machine learning models and algorithms on AWS, leveraging services such as AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, AWS Bedrock, MCP Servers, LangChain and others as appropriate.
- Develop scalable and efficient data pipelines for data ingestion, preprocessing, transformation, and feature engineering using AWS tools and frameworks.
- Drive the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle, from data collection and preprocessing to model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Work closely with DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration of machine learning models into production environments, implementing CI/CD pipelines and ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Research and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and AWS services, and evaluate their applicability to our projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to machine learning models and AWS infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the broader engineering team to improve overall system architecture, performance, and maintainability.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentorship of junior team members.
- Stay on top of technology changes in the market and continuously look for opportunities to leverage modern technology.
- Participate in code reviews,



proactively identifying and mitigating potential issues and defects as well as assisting with continuous improvement.
- Develop automated testing plans and automate the delivery of components using CI/CD.
- Mentor less experienced team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / related engineering field OR equivalent experience in related field.
- 5+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer with a strong focus on machine learning, preferably in a cloud-based environment with expertise in AWS.
- Solid understanding of machine learning concepts, algorithms, and libraries, and hands-on experience with common machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc.).
- Extensive experience in designing, training, and deploying machine learning models using AWS services such as AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, and AWS Bedrock.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and familiarity with relevant libraries and tools.
- Experience with technologies including ML, Natural Language Processing (NLP), data mining, distributed computing, and computer vision preferred.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, code reviews, and agile development methodologies.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration for deploying and managing machine learning applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.




- AWS certifications in relevant areas (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty) are highly desirable.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Familiarity with Git code versioning tools.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work autonomously with little direction. Should be self-motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of their work. History of delivering high-quality work on time, excellent critical thinking skills. Able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively, while keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
