:

A SID (Sponge Iron/Steel/DRI) Plant Shift Incharge is responsible for supervising all operations, personnel, and safety during their shift to ensure smooth and efficient production. Key duties include managing the shift team, conducting and overseeing mechanical or electrical maintenance, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and maintaining production targets, quality, and safety standards. The role also requires thorough record-keeping and reporting of shift activities and performance. Key responsibilities

- Shift Supervision: Oversee and guide the shift team (operators, technicians, electricians, etc.) to meet production goals and operational efficiency.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Ensure the smooth operation of all equipment by performing and supervising preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Respond to and resolve mechanical or electrical faults in critical machinery like kilns, motors, VFDs, and compressors.
- Monitor equipment health and coordinate major repairs or overhauls.

- Production & Quality:

- Monitor and maintain optimal operating parameters to ensure production targets are met.
- Ensure the quality of the final product is not compromised.

- Safety and Compliance:





- Enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and statutory norms.

- Reporting and Coordination:

- Maintain detailed logs and records of shift activities, breakdowns, and performance.
- Report shift performance to the next in-charge or management.
- Coordinate with other departments (operations, maintenance, etc.) to ensure a seamless workflow.

Required skills and qualifications
- Education: Typically requires a diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
- Experience: Minimum experience in a SID/DRI/Steel plant, with prior supervisory or shift-in-charge experience being essential.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of plant machinery (e.g., kilns, rotary equipment, HT/LT systems, VFDs) and maintenance practices.
- Leadership: Ability to lead, manage, and motivate a team.
- Problem-Solving: Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure.
- Communication: Good communication and coordination skills.
