Senior Lead EUC Engineer (L3 / SME) – Virtual Desktop & Application Delivery

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior End User Computing (EUC) Engineer (L3 / SME) to lead the engineering, and operational excellence of our cloud-based virtual desktop environment and application delivery platforms.

This role is a hands-on technical leadership position, responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions across:

The ideal candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and escalation point, driving platform stability, performance, and modernization while collaborating across engineering, security, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Engineering & Architecture:

- Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
- Azure Virtual Apps (AVA)
- AWS AppStream 2.0
- Design, implement, and optimize enterprise EUC platforms leveraging AWS/AppStream technologies, AVD, and Azure Virtual Apps

Define standards for:

L3 Support & Advanced Troubleshooting:

- Image lifecycle management (build, test, release)
- Host pool and session host configurations
- Application publishing and delivery strategies




- Evaluate new platform capabilities and recommend improvements aligned to business and technology roadmaps
- Drive scalability, resiliency, and cost optimization across environments
- Serve as the L3 escalation point for complex EUC and virtual desktop incidents
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for high-severity issues and drive long-term remediation

Troubleshoot complex issues involving:

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) / Azure Virtual Apps:

- Virtual desktop performance
- Application delivery failures
- User profile and login issues
- Engage with vendors (Microsoft, AWS, Dell) for advanced support when required

Manage and optimize:

AWS & Amazon AppStream 2.0:

- Host pools, session hosts, and application groups
- User profile solutions (e.g., FSLogix)
- Image lifecycle and multi-workplace promotion
- Optimize login performance, session stability, and overall user experience
- Implement monitoring and diagnostics to proactively identify and resolve issues

Support and optimize AppStream 2.0 environments, including:

Automation & Process Optimization:

- Image builders, fleets, and stacks
- Identity and access controls (IAM)
- Networking (VPC, subnets, security groups)
- Lead application onboarding and optimize streaming performance
- Identify and resolve latency, connectivity, and backend integration challenges
- Utilize Terraform to implement configuration changes across the environment

Develop automation to:

Monitoring, Reliability & Performance:

- Reduce manual provisioning and operational tasks
- Improve consistency and speed of deployments
- Utilize scripting (e.g., PowerShell) and infrastructure-as-code practices where applicable
- Drive continuous improvement in platform performance and operational efficiency

Define and enhance monitoring strategies for:

Security, Governance & Compliance:





- Session performance and availability
- Login times and profile load performance
- Application responsiveness
- Implement proactive monitoring to detect and resolve issues before end-user impact
- Use operational insights to reduce incident volume and improve service delivery

Implement and maintain:

- Secure access controls (RBAC, least privilege)
- Image hardening and vulnerability remediation

Ensure adherence to enterprise standards for:

Collaboration & Technical Leadership:

- Change management
- Platform governance
- Security and compliance requirements
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Engineering team members and L2 engineers
- Partner with cross-functional teams (network, security, cloud, application teams)

Develop and maintain:

Required Qualifications:

- Technical runbooks
- Knowledge base articles
- Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Contribute to platform strategy and modernization initiatives
- 6+ years of experience in End User Computing (EUC), VDI, or virtual application delivery

Strong hands-on experience with:

Preferred Qualifications:

- Amazon AppStream 2.0 (or equivalent streaming platforms)
- Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
- Azure Virtual Apps / remote application delivery
- Proven experience providing L3 support and complex troubleshooting
- Experience with enterprise IT environments and ITIL-based processes
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills

Experience with:

Core Technical Skills:

- FSLogix profile management and optimization
- Image lifecycle automation and governance
- Multi-region / large-scale EUC environments
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell preferred)
- Experience with proactive monitoring and performance optimization
- Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance requirements
- Virtual Desktop Platforms: AppStream 2.0, AVD, Azure Virtual Apps,
- Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS
- User Profiles: FSLogix or equivalent
