About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Game UI Designer who is passionate about creating intuitive, visually compelling, and player-centric interfaces for games. In this role, you will own the end-to-end UI design process from early wireframes to final in-engine implementation working closely with game designers, artists, engineers, and clients to deliver polished, scalable UI across platforms. You will play a key role in defining UI quality standards, mentoring the UI team, and ensuring consistency across multiple game screens and systems.

This role also requires the ability to independently coordinate with clients, clearly understand their expectations, and translate them into effective UI solutions without assistance.

Responsibilities

- Design high-quality game UI/UX including menus, HUDs, overlays, pop-ups, and in-game systems.
- Design intuitive, visually compelling, and player-centric interfaces for games.
- Translate game design requirements and wireframes into visually engaging, functional UI.
- Create wireframes, mockups, and final UI assets aligned with gameplay needs.
- Create UI mood boards and visual directions to define the look and feel before detailed UI production.
- Coordinate directly with clients to understand UI expectations, present designs, defend design decisions, and incorporate feedback independently.
- Collaborate closely with game designers, engineers, and artists to ensure smooth implementation.
- Work with developers to ensure UI is technically feasible, optimised, and scalable across resolutions and platforms.
- Maintain and evolve UI style guides, component libraries, and design systems.
- Perform UI reviews and usability checks to ensure clarity, readability, and player comfort.
- Mentor junior UI designers and artists, review their work, and provide constructive feedback to maintain quality standards across the team.
- Iterate based on playtests, feedback, and production constraints.
- Actively adopt and champion AI-powered design tools across the UI team to accelerate ideation,



visual exploration, and production output.
- Stay up to date with current gaming UI/UX trends, genre benchmarks, and market standards, and bring those benchmarks into our work.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in Game UI Design (mobile, PC, console, or cross-platform).
- Must have shipped multiple game titles with significant, demonstrable ownership of the UI.
- A strong portfolio showcasing game UI, HUDs, menus, and interactive systems — portfolio link is mandatory with the application.
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma and Photoshop (essential), plus Illustrator or equivalent tools.
- Proven ability to communicate directly with clients, present work, and manage UI discussions independently.
- Strong, demonstrable command of AI tools for UI design, mood boards, concepting, and visual ideation. This is a core expectation of the role — we expect the candidate to use AI tools to the fullest to raise productivity, quality, and design output to current industry standards, not to treat them as optional extras.
- Solid understanding of game UX principles, player psychology, and usability.
- Strong visual design skills: layout, typography, colour theory, and iconography.
- Experience designing UI for different screen sizes, aspect ratios, and platforms, with an understanding of performance considerations for game UI.
- Experience mentoring or leading a small UI team.
- Strong awareness of ongoing gaming UI trends and evolving player expectations.
- Experience working in production environments with deadlines and iterations.

Nice-to-Have

- Hands-on experience implementing UI in Unity (UGUI / UI Toolkit) or Unreal (UMG).
- Knowledge of UI animation, transitions, and motion design.
- Experience defining UI direction for a project from scratch.
