Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Sales & Marketing Executive with experience in the Freight Forwarding and Logistics industry. The candidate will be responsible for generating new business, acquiring customers, promoting freight forwarding services, maintaining customer relationships, and achieving assigned sales and gross profit targets.
The candidate should have good knowledge of Sea Freight, Air Freight, Import & Export, Customs Clearance, Transportation and related logistics services.
Key Responsibilities1. Business Development & Sales
- Identify and develop current business opportunities in the freight forwarding and logistics sector.
- Generate new leads through market visits, references, networking, industry databases, and other sources.
- Identify potential importers, exporters, manufacturers, traders, distributors, and corporate customers.
- Develop and maintain a strong customer pipeline and regularly follow up on prospective customers.
- Conduct customer visits and understand their import, export, freight, and logistics requirements.
- Promote the company's Air Freight, Sea Freight, Customs Clearance, Transportation, and other logistics services.
- Prepare and submit competitive quotations in coordination with the Pricing and Operations teams.
- Negotiate rates and commercial terms with customers within approved company guidelines.
- Convert enquiries and quotations into confirmed business.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and GP targets.
1. Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Regularly meet customers to understand their business requirements and upcoming shipments.
- Identify opportunities for repeat business, cross-selling, and up-selling.
- Handle customer queries and coordinate with internal teams for timely resolution.
- Collect customer feedback and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Monitor customer accounts and identify opportunities to increase business volume.
1. Freight Forwarding Coordination
- Understand customer requirements related to Import and Export shipments.
- Coordinate with Operations, Pricing, Documentation, Customs Clearance, and Transportation teams.
- Obtain freight rates from shipping lines, airlines, agents, and other service providers as required.
- Ensure quotations are submitted to customers accurately and within the required timeline.
- Follow up on shipment confirmations and ensure proper handover to the Operations team.
- Maintain awareness of freight market rates, carrier schedules, transit times, and service availability.
1. Market Development & Marketing
- Conduct regular market research to identify new customers and business opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activities, market rates, services, and customer trends.
- Develop customer segments and target accounts based on business potential.
- Participate in customer meetings, exhibitions, trade events, conferences, and networking activities.
- Promote the company's freight forwarding and logistics services through appropriate marketing channels.
- Develop and maintain a database of prospective customers and key decision-makers.
1. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain an updated Daily Sales Report (DSR).
- Maintain records of leads, customer visits, enquiries, quotations, follow-ups, and conversions.
- Submit weekly and monthly sales reports to the management.
- Track sales pipeline and provide regular updates on expected business.
- Monitor individual customer revenue and GP performance.
- Maintain accurate customer and prospect information in the company's CRM/system.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Monthly Sales Revenue Target.
- Monthly Gross Profit (GP) Target.
- Number of new customers acquired.
- Number of qualified leads generated.
- Customer visit and meeting targets.
- Number of quotations submitted.
- Quotation-to-business conversion ratio.
- New shipment volume generated.
- Existing customer business growth.
- Customer retention and repeat business.
- Sales pipeline value.
- Timely submission of DSR and sales reports.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of Freight Forwarding and Logistics.
- Knowledge of Air Freight and Sea Freight operations.
- Basic understanding of Import & Export procedures.
- Knowledge of Customs Clearance/CHA will be an added advantage.
- Strong business development and lead-generation skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong customer relationship management skills.
- Good follow-up and convincing ability.
- Target-oriented and commercially focused.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CRM tools.
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings and business development.
Qualification & Experience Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, Logistics, or a related field.
Experience: 2–5 years of experience in Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Shipping, CHA, or International Transportation Sales.
Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be aggressive in business development, commercially aware, target-oriented, and well connected with customers in the logistics/freight forwarding industry. The candidate should have the ability to independently generate leads, acquire new customers, negotiate business, and achieve revenue and GP targets.
Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
