Role Objective To configure, install, program, and commission industrial robotic systems at customer sites with high reliability, safety, and first-time acceptance, while supporting application development and troubleshooting during execution.
Key Responsibilities
A. Robot Application Engineering
- Understand customer process & application requirements
- Select appropriate: o Robot model o End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) o Grippers, fixtures, sensors
- Support cycle-time studies & reach simulations
- Assist in application validation during FAT / SAT
B. Installation & Commissioning
- Robot mechanical installation & alignment
- Electrical wiring & IO interfacing
- PLC-Robot communication setup
- Teach pendant programming & path optimization
- Conduct: o Dry runs o Trial cycles o Production validation
C. Programming & Integration
- Develop robot programs for: o Pick & place o Palletizing o Machine tending o Welding / handling (as applicable)
- Integrate robots with: o PLCs o Vision systems o Safety systems (light curtains, scanners)
- Parameter tuning for accuracy & cycle time
D. Troubleshooting & Support
- Diagnose & resolve: o Program errors o Communication faults o Safety trips
- Provide in office debugging during commissioning
- Support customer during initial production ramp-up
E. Documentation & Handover
- Prepare: o Robot programs o Backup files o As-built documentation
- Support customer training (operators / maintenance)
- Ensure smooth handover to customer maintenance team
F. Safety & Compliance
- Follow robot safety standards & SOPs
- Ensure safe commissioning practices
- Comply with site safety rules and ISO procedures
Technical Skills Required
- Hands-on experience with industrial robots (any OEM): o Programming & commissioning
- Exposure to: o PLC interfacing (basic to intermediate) o Field devices & sensors o Industrial networking (basic)
- Ability to read: o Electrical drawings o Layouts o Sequence logic
(OEM-specific certification preferred but not mandatory)

Qualification
- BE / BTech / Diploma in: o Mechanical o Electrical o Mechatronics o Instrumentation / Automation
Experience Profile (4–6 Years)
- Minimum 2–3 complete project cycles handled independently
- Exposure to site commissioning & customer interaction
- Experience in automation / robotics system integration preferred
Performance Metrics (KRAs)

- Commissioning cycle time vs plan
- Number of repeat issues post-handover
