About the RoleRio Clays Private Limited is looking for an experienced QA Chemist to join its Quality Assurance/Quality Control team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of raw materials, in-process materials and finished mineral products through chemical and physical testing, quality monitoring and proper documentation.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in chemical analysis, laboratory testing and quality control, preferably within the minerals, ceramics, chemicals, clay, kaolin, feldspar or other process-manufacturing industries.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Testing & Analysis

- Conduct physical and chemical analysis of raw materials, in-process samples and finished products.
- Perform testing as per approved specifications, SOPs and customer requirements.
- Analyse mineral samples and monitor key quality parameters.
- Ensure accurate sampling, testing and recording of results.
- Identify deviations in test results and immediately communicate them to the concerned team.
- Maintain consistency and reliability of laboratory test results.

Raw Material & Process Quality
- Inspect and test incoming raw materials such as kaolin, ball clay, feldspar and other mineral materials.
- Monitor quality parameters at different stages of the manufacturing process.
- Conduct regular production-line/batch sampling.
- Coordinate with the Production team to identify and control quality variations.
- Monitor batch-to-batch consistency and investigate abnormal variations.

Finished Product Quality
- Test finished products against approved product specifications.
- Verify product quality before release and dispatch.
- Prepare and maintain test reports and Certificates of Analysis (COA), wherever required.
- Ensure finished products meet internal and customer-specific specifications.
- Hold/reject non-conforming batches as per established procedures.

Laboratory Management
- Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment and instruments.
- Ensure proper calibration/verification of laboratory instruments.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping, safety and testing standards.




- Ensure samples are correctly labelled, stored and traceable.
- Maintain laboratory chemicals, reagents and testing records.

Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain laboratory registers, test reports, inspection records and batch-wise quality data.
- Prepare daily/weekly quality reports.
- Maintain records of rejected, reprocessed and non-conforming materials.
- Maintain proper traceability of samples and production batches.
- Ensure all QA/QC documentation is accurate and updated.

Non-Conformance & CAPA
- Identify quality deviations and non-conformities.
- Assist in root-cause analysis of quality issues.
- Coordinate with Production and other departments for corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Follow up on corrective actions and monitor their effectiveness.
- Support reduction of rejection, rework and product-quality variations.

Customer & Export Quality Support
- Support the Quality team in meeting customer-specific technical specifications.
- Assist in investigating customer complaints related to product quality.
- Analyse samples related to customer complaints and prepare investigation reports.
- Support preparation of technical/quality documents required for domestic and export customers.

Key Parameters / Testing KnowledgeThe candidate should have practical knowledge of relevant mineral/chemical testing parameters, such as:
- Moisture
- Particle size / PSD
- Brightness / Whiteness
- Residue / Grit
- pH
- Specific gravity
- Fineness
- Bulk density
- LOI (Loss on Ignition)
- Fe₂O₃ and TiO₂
- Chemical composition
- Plasticity
- Other product/customer-specific parameters

Educational QualificationMandatory:

- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.

Preferred:

- M.Sc. Chemistry
- Industrial Chemistry
- Analytical Chemistry
- Candidates with relevant experience in mineral/ceramic/chemical laboratories will be preferred.

Experience2–4 years of relevant experience in:





- Quality Assurance / Quality Control
- Chemical laboratory
- Mineral processing
- Kaolin / Clay / Feldspar industry
- Ceramics
- Chemical manufacturing
- Paints & coatings
- Other process-manufacturing industries

Candidates without relevant hands-on laboratory/QA experience will not be preferred. Required Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of chemical and physical analysis
- Hands-on laboratory testing experience
- Knowledge of sampling procedures
- Ability to interpret chemical/test results
- Knowledge of SOPs and quality specifications
- Knowledge of calibration and laboratory equipment handling
- Basic knowledge of ISO/QMS practices
- Knowledge of CAPA and root-cause analysis
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel
- Quality documentation and reporting

CompensationCTC: ₹3.0 – ₹5.0 LPA

Compensation will be based on the candidate's experience, technical skills and current CTC.

Preferred Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will be a B.Sc./M.Sc. Chemistry professional with 2–4 years of hands-on QA/QC laboratory experience, preferably from mineral processing, ceramics, kaolin/clay, feldspar, chemicals or other process industries.

Candidates who have practical experience with chemical analysis, physical testing, batch quality control, laboratory documentation and handling quality deviations will be strongly preferred.

Immediate joiners / candidates with short notice periods may be preferred.
