Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Qt/C++ Developer to develop, enhance, maintain, and optimize a native cross-platform desktop application using C++ and the Qt framework.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in C++, Qt, GUI development, debugging, application performance optimization, and cross-platform development. Experience working on both Windows and Linux applications will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain native desktop applications using C++ and Qt.
- Design and implement user interfaces using Qt Widgets and/or QML.
- Develop reusable, maintainable, and high-performance C++ components.
- Work with existing C++/Qt codebases and implement new features and enhancements.
- Integrate REST APIs, third-party libraries, and external services where required.
- Implement application-level security and data protection best practices.
- Debug and troubleshoot application crashes, memory issues, performance problems, and functional defects.
- Perform code reviews and improve existing code quality.
- Optimize application performance, memory usage, and startup time.
- Build and package applications for supported operating systems.
- Ensure compatibility across Windows and Linux.
- Write unit tests and perform appropriate application-level testing.
- Collaborate with the project manager and technical team to understand requirements and deliver features within agreed timelines.
- Prepare technical documentation for implemented modules and features.

Other Skills
- Git/GitHub/GitLab experience.
- Experience working with REST APIs and JSON.
- Familiarity with debugging tools such as GDB, Visual Studio Debugger, or Qt Creator.
- Understanding of application performance optimization.
- Good understanding of software development lifecycle and version control.

Preferred Skills

Candidates with experience in any of the following will be preferred:

- Cross-platform desktop application development.
- Large existing C++/Qt codebases.
- Multimedia or video-related applications.
- Networking applications.
- Database integration.
- Embedded systems or hardware integration.
- OpenGL / graphics programming.
- Security-sensitive desktop applications.
- CI/CD and automated application builds.

Experience

Required: 3+ years of professional experience in C++ development.

Preferred: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Qt/C++ desktop application development.

For highly experienced freelancers, candidates with strong relevant project experience may be considered even if their overall experience differs from the above requirement.

Contract / Freelancer Expectations The developer should be able to:

- Work independently and take ownership of assigned modules.
- Understand an existing codebase quickly.




- Provide realistic development estimates.
- Meet agreed project milestones and deadlines.
- Attend occasional technical/project meetings.
- Provide regular development updates.
- Maintain clean, documented, and production-ready code.
- Support bug fixing and stabilization during the testing/release phase.

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
