Role Overview The Airtel Africa Digital Labs (AADL) fosters a dynamic, engineering-led work environment where contributions are recognized immediately. All AADL teams participate fully in every phase of the development and project deployment lifecycle.

- AADL serves 14 Airtel entities (OpCos) across African continent. In other words, there are 14 large customers for AADL
- Common Products: AADL builds common products that are deployed at each of these 14 entities
- High-level Expectation: Manage delivery of recent platforms and products, including feature enhancement for deployed solutions. The coding, implementation etc is taken care of by respective engineering teams within AADL. Any new enhancement or product involves deliveries from one or more engineering teams. This role requires planning, tracking with the engineering teams and presenting updates to the stakeholders within and outside engineering
- Release Management with respective Product Managers and Product Owners
- CR and Project Delivery tracking, governance and MIS
- Resolve obstacles hindering progress within engineering teams.
- Represent AADL as the engineering leader and technical expert in engagements with leadership across 14 OpCos and Headquarter (HQ) executives
- Facilitate alignment and communication between engineering, business, and local OpCo teams to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure the launch of new features and products integrates both technical and commercial requirements.
- Domain context-aware project execution:



Apply domain expertise and analytical acumen to support successful feature deployment and adoption.
- Risk identification and mitigation: Anticipate and mitigate project risks through proactive solution development.
- Business-aligned plan and adjustments: Align projects with overall business strategy, providing strategic guidance when necessary.
- Process-improvements: Continuously enhance software development processes and team productivity.

Key Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech/MCA in Computer Science or Information Technology with 15–25 years of experience in scalable product organizations.
- Minimum of 7 years leading a multi-project portfolio
- Enterprise software/SaaS delivery to large enterprises is a plus
- At least 7 years’ experience managing managers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering disciplines: Service Delivery, Program Management, and Support.
- Ability to balance high-level strategic thinking with technical insight.
- Proactive problem-solving and workflow optimization to prevent recurring issues.
- Strong planning abilities, with flexibility to adapt to evolving technologies and business decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, openness to diverse perspectives, and adaptability to changing conditions. Role requires presenting to leadership – both business as well as technical and hence an ability to tune communication for the audience is a must
