Role Description The PLC Programmer will work full time on-site at TECHNAVIA INDIA’s facility in Chennai, contributing to automation projects for manufacturing clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, programming, and testing PLC logic and control systems, as well as integrating PLCs with robotic and mechatronic equipment. The role involves troubleshooting and optimizing existing automation systems, preparing technical documentation, and supporting commissioning and installation activities at customer sites as needed.
The PLC Programmer will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and robotics engineers to ensure solutions meet performance, safety, and quality requirements, while adhering to project timelines and budgets.
Qualifications
- Strong PLC programming skills (e.g., ladder logic, function block, structured text) and experience with leading PLC platforms.
- Knowledge of industrial automation, control systems, and integration with robotics and mechatronics.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, and technical documentation.
- Experience in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting automated machinery and production lines.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols and interfaces (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, fieldbus systems).
- Familiarity with safety standards and best practices related to industrial automation and robotics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and quality in programming and documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities for working in cross-functional engineering teams.
- Relevant technical education such as a diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related engineering field.
- Prior experience in automotive or manufacturing automation projects is an advantage.
