Job Title: PDM Engineer – PLM, Release & Engineering Change Management The PDM Engineer manages product data and engineering releases across the full product lifecycle, ensuring accurate configuration, bills of materials (BOM), and engineering change activities within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
This role supports release management, sustainability initiatives, and product lifecycle processes while closely coordinating with global teams to enable timely and high-quality project execution.
Responsibilities
- Manage product data within PLM tools to ensure accuracy, consistency, and traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
- Administer and control engineering releases, including creation, review, and approval of release packages in alignment with established processes.
- Maintain and update product configurations and bills of materials (BOM) to reflect current design and engineering changes.
- Execute and track engineering change notices (ECN) and engineering change orders (ECO) to ensure controlled implementation of design modifications.
- Coordinate engineering change activities across cross-functional and global teams to support on-time project delivery.
- Support release management processes to ensure timely and compliant release of engineering documentation and product data.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other stakeholders to ensure that PLM data supports sustainability and lifecycle objectives.
- Monitor data quality within PLM systems and drive corrective actions to resolve discrepancies in product structures and configurations.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to product data, engineering changes, and configuration management in accordance with internal standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of PLM, PDM,
and change management processes to enhance efficiency and data integrity.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience working with Product Data Management (PDM) processes and tools.
- Strong knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and their use in managing product data and engineering releases.
- Hands-on experience with engineering change processes, including Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
- Ability to manage and maintain bills of materials (BOM) and product configurations within PLM environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE / B.Tech Mechanical) or an equivalent mechanical engineering qualification.
- Ability to coordinate with global and cross-functional teams to support timely project execution.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high data accuracy and integrity.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting full product lifecycle processes from concept through release and maintenance.
- Familiarity with sustainability considerations in product lifecycle and engineering data management.
- Strong documentation skills for recording engineering changes, configurations, and release information.
- Ability to contribute to process improvements in PLM, PDM, and engineering change management workflows.
