We are looking for an experienced Oral Surgeon to conduct an intensive 1.5-day clinical teaching workshop. The faculty member will be responsible for demonstrating extraction techniques, local anaesthesia administration on patients, and key oral surgery procedures and concepts.
The faculty must be able to cover and demonstrate all assigned topics within the scheduled 1.5 days without leaving major topics incomplete.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate local anaesthesia administration techniques on patients.
- Demonstrate routine and surgical tooth extraction techniques on patients.
- Explain patient assessment, case selection and treatment planning.
- Demonstrate appropriate surgical instruments and their clinical applications.
- Teach flap design, suturing and basic surgical principles where applicable.
- Demonstrate management of common intraoperative and postoperative complications.
- Explain pre-operative and post-operative patient instructions.
- Cover key Oral Surgery theory and clinical topics relevant to the workshop.
- Provide practical, step-by-step explanations during live demonstrations.
- Interact with participants and answer clinical questions.
- Ensure that all demonstrations are performed according to appropriate patient-safety, infection-control and professional standards.
- Complete the entire assigned curriculum within 1.5 days.
Expected Teaching Coverage The faculty should be competent to teach and demonstrate topics including, but not limited to:
- Patient evaluation and case selection
- Local anaesthesia techniques
- Nerve blocks and infiltration techniques
- Simple tooth extraction
- Surgical extraction
- Flap design and reflection
- Suturing techniques
- Surgical instruments and their uses
- Management of difficult extractions
- Management of common surgical complications
- Post-operative care and instructions
- Basic oral surgical emergencies
- Infection control and surgical asepsis
- Clinical decision-making in oral surgery
Candidate Requirements
- MDS / equivalent postgraduate qualification in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery preferred.
- Strong clinical experience in oral surgical procedures.
- Demonstrable experience in tooth extraction and local anaesthesia techniques.
- Good communication and teaching skills.
- Comfortable performing live patient demonstrations.
- Ability to teach both theoretical concepts and practical clinical techniques.
- Ability to complete a structured curriculum within a strict 1.5-day schedule.
Important Requirement The selected faculty member will be provided with the complete list of topics in advance. Completion of all assigned topics within the scheduled 1.5 days is mandatory. The faculty should plan the teaching sequence and time allocation accordingly.
Remuneration
₹4,500 per day
