Assistant Manager / Manager - Operational Risk Management

Location: Gurgaon

Experience

5-10 years (AM: 5-7 years | Manager: 8-10 years)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to support and strengthen the Operational Risk Management Framework across the organization. The role will be responsible for driving risk and control transformation initiatives, facilitating Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), developing and monitoring Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), conducting control assessments and testing, and supporting Operational Resilience programs.

The ideal candidate should possess strong experience in non-financial risk management, governance, control frameworks, and operational risk practices within the Banking, Financial Services, Insurance (BFSI), Consulting, or Global Capability Center (GCC) environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Risk Management Framework

- Support the design, implementation, and enhancement of the Operational Risk Management Framework.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
- Drive governance and reporting activities related to operational risk.

Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
- Lead and facilitate RCSA workshops with business stakeholders.
- Identify key risks, controls, risk drivers, and control gaps.
- Challenge and validate risk assessments to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Track remediation actions and monitor closure of identified gaps.

Process & Control Transformation
- Partner with business and functional teams to enhance risk and control environments.
- Identify process inefficiencies and control weaknesses.
- Drive control rationalization, standardization, and automation initiatives.
- Support transformation programs focused on strengthening risk management capabilities.

Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
- Develop, implement, and maintain KRIs across business functions.
- Establish thresholds, monitoring processes, and escalation protocols.
- Analyze trends and provide actionable insights to senior management.

Control Assessments & Testing




- Execute control design and operating effectiveness assessments.
- Conduct independent control testing and evaluate control performance.
- Document findings, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit, Compliance, and Risk teams on remediation activities.

Operational Resilience
- Support the development and implementation of Operational Resilience frameworks.
- Assist in identifying Important Business Services (IBS), impact tolerances, and scenario testing.
- Contribute to business continuity, third-party risk, and resilience assessments.
- Monitor resilience-related risks and support regulatory commitments.

Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare risk reports, dashboards, and management information for senior leadership.
- Present key risk insights and recommendations to governance forums.
- Engage effectively with business, risk, compliance, audit, and technology stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, CRISC, CISA, CIA, or equivalent are preferred.

Required Experience & Skills
- Strong experience in Operational Risk Management.
- Hands-on experience in:
- RCSA development and execution.
- Key Risk Indicator (KRI) framework design and monitoring.
- Control assessments and control testing.
- Process and Control Transformation initiatives.
- Operational Resilience programs.
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks and industry standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Consulting, or GCC environments preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis/reporting tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
