Description

We are seeking an experienced Okta IAM Engineer to design, administer, and enhance our Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Okta administration, access management, Okta development/customization, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to automate identity lifecycle and access provisioning.

4–10+ years of Identity and Access Management experience.

Strong hands-on experience administering Okta.

Strong knowledge of

Experience with Okta APIs and Workflows.

Hands-on experience with Terraform for Okta automation.

Experience managing Okta resources through Infrastructure as Code.

Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.

Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript).

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP identity integrations.

Familiarity with Azure AD/Entra ID, Active Directory, or Ping Identity.

Experience integrating SaaS applications with Okta.

Knowledge of Privileged Access Management (PAM).

Exposure to Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) solutions.

Understanding of Zero Trust architecture.

Nice to Have

Experience with SailPoint or Saviynt.

Experience with ServiceNow IAM workflows.

Knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud-native authentication.

Experience with SIEM integrations (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar).

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Identity & Access Management

Administer and maintain the Okta Identity Platform.

Manage user lifecycle including onboarding, offboarding, and role changes.





Configure and maintain authentication and authorization policies.

Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and least-privilege access.

Manage MFA, password policies, adaptive authentication, and account recovery.

Troubleshoot authentication, authorization, and SSO-related issues.

Okta Administration

Configure applications using SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and WS-Federation.

Integrate enterprise and cloud applications with Okta.

Configure Universal Directory, Groups, Group Rules, and Profile Mappings.

Manage Lifecycle Management (LCM) and provisioning/deprovisioning workflows.

Maintain Identity Governance and access certification processes.

Okta Development

Develop and implement enhancements using Okta APIs and SDKs.

Build custom workflows using Okta Workflows.

Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript.

Support custom authentication and authorization requirements.

Implement event hooks, inline hooks, and API integrations.

Perform development changes requested by business and security teams.

Terraform & Automation

Manage Okta configurations using Terraform.

Develop reusable Terraform modules for Okta resources.

Gather business requirements and implement IAM solutions.





Create technical documentation and operational runbooks.

Provide L2/L3 support for IAM incidents.
