About the Role

Krishna Nursing College is seeking a qualified and committed Nursing Tutor to support the academic and clinical training of students enrolled in the GNM Nursing programme.

The Nursing Tutor will be responsible for delivering nursing education, supervising students during clinical postings, developing practical skills, monitoring student performance, and maintaining academic and clinical records.

The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in nursing practice, good communication skills, and a genuine interest in teaching and mentoring nursing students.

Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic & Teaching

- Conduct theory classes and tutorials as assigned by the Principal/Academic Coordinator.
- Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials.
- Explain nursing concepts clearly and effectively to students.
- Conduct internal assessments, tests and practical assessments as assigned.
- Assist in preparing students for examinations.
- Monitor student academic performance and provide additional support where required.

Clinical Training
- Supervise students during clinical postings at Krishna Hospital and other designated clinical areas.
- Demonstrate nursing procedures and ensure students develop the required practical skills.
- Monitor students' clinical performance, professional conduct and patient-care practices.
- Maintain and verify students' clinical records and logbooks.
- Ensure students follow proper infection-control, patient-safety and professional standards.
- Coordinate with hospital nursing staff regarding student clinical training.

Student Mentoring & Discipline
- Act as a mentor and point of contact for assigned students.
- Monitor student attendance and punctuality.
- Identify students experiencing academic or behavioural difficulties and report them to the Principal.




- Encourage professional behaviour, discipline and ethical nursing practice.
- Support student welfare while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

Documentation & Administration
- Maintain accurate academic, attendance and clinical-training records.
- Complete reports and documentation required by the college and applicable regulatory authorities.
- Participate in faculty meetings, academic planning and college activities.
- Assist with examinations, inspections, accreditation and regulatory requirements when required.
- Support the Principal in maintaining academic and clinical standards of the institution.

EligibilityEssential
- B.Sc Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing from a recognised institution.
- Valid registration with the relevant State Nursing Council.
- Minimum 2 years of professional/clinical nursing experience.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to undertake both classroom teaching and clinical supervision.

Preferred
- Previous experience as a Nursing Tutor, Clinical Instructor or Nursing Faculty.
- Experience teaching GNM Nursing students.
- M.Sc Nursing qualification.
- Experience working in a hospital environment.
- Strong practical nursing knowledge and ability to demonstrate clinical procedures.
