About Fine DecorFine Decor is a curtain fabric brand under Ashvira Fashions, based in Mumbai. The company has been manufacturing curtain fabric since 1992 and serves exporters, global buyers, retailers, wholesalers, and modern trade chains across India. Fine Decor is now investing in building out its retail and cut-piece segment nationally, and this role will lead that charge.
Role SummaryOwn and grow Fine Decor's retail-facing curtain fabric business across India. This role is responsible for building a strong retailer network, driving catalogue placement, ensuring those catalogues actually convert to sales, and building a sales team capable of sustaining this at scale. The ideal candidate treats catalogue distribution as a tracked investment, not a giveaway — success is measured by sales generated per catalogue placed, not just volume of outlets covered.
Key ResponsibilitiesRetailer Network & Catalogue Placement
- Identify, onboard, and manage curtain fabric retailers across priority states and cities.
- Drive catalogue placement — get Fine Decor's collections into the right retail outlets and keep them current each season.
- Track catalogue-to-sale conversion at the outlet level and act on the data.
Catalogue ROI & Outlet Development
- Treat catalogue placement as an investment: track sales generated per catalogue at every outlet.
- Prioritise high-yield outlets — those converting catalogues into consistent,
repeat orders — for faster replenishment and better terms.
- Identify and correct low-yield outlets (catalogues sitting unsold) through re-training, re-pitching, or withdrawal.
- Set and review minimum sales-per-catalogue benchmarks per outlet/territory on a quarterly basis.
Sales Team Management
- Recruit, train, and manage the field sales team covering the retail segment.
- Build a repeatable onboarding and training process for new sales hires — product knowledge, catalogue selling, negotiation, and collections.
- Set territory assignments, visit cadence, and reporting discipline.
- Own target-setting and performance reviews for the team.
Pricing & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Own retail-segment pricing and margin discipline.
- Coordinate with procurement, cutting, and warehouse teams to ensure retail fulfilment (cut lengths, smaller order sizes, faster turnaround) is not bottlenecked behind wholesale or export priorities.
Market Intelligence
- Track competitor catalogues, pricing, and retailer relationships in the curtain fabric retail space.
- Feed market trends back into collection planning.
Candidate Profile• 8–12 years of experience in textile or home furnishing retail sales, ideally in curtain fabric or cut-piece segments specifically.
- Solid, existing retailer relationships across key Indian markets.
- Has built or managed a field sales team, not only worked as an individual contributor.
- Understands cut-piece / retail-counter selling dynamics, distinct from bulk wholesale or export selling.
- Comfortable operating in a founder-led, hands-on setup rather than a large corporate structure.
