Role Description

Responsible for supervising and controlling mould closing activities to ensure correct core setting, mould assembly, alignment, clamping/weighting and pouring readiness as per drawing, process sheet and quality requirements. The position will ensure safe operations, production targets, minimum mould-related defects and smooth coordination with Core Shop, Moulding, Melting and Quality departments.

Responsibility

Supervise daily mould closing and assembly activities according to the production / pouring plan.

Verify bottom and top mould condition before closing.

Ensure proper core setting, core seating,



orientation and support as per drawing/process sheet.

Check core prints, vents, chaplets, chills, sleeves and other consumables before mould closing.

Check mould joint condition and prevent mismatch, mould damage and sand fallouts.

Coordinate with Melting/Pouring team for mould readiness and pouring sequence.

Maintain heat/lot/mould traceability and production records.

Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S in the mould closing area.

Enforce PPE and foundry safety requirements for all employees.

Qualification & Experience

Diploma or any degree.

3–5 years of experience in foundry moulding/closing operations, preferably in steel foundry.

Experience in sand moulding, core setting and mould assembly is preferred.

Experience with No-Bake / CO₂ / resin sand moulding will be an advantage.

Positive manpower handling, communication and problem-solving skills.

- Basic knowledge of production reports, Excel/ERP and 5S.
