Objective To maintain operational integrity and execute network changes and migrations with high precision during scheduled maintenance windows, ensuring zero service disruption and seamless customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations &
- Troubleshooting
- Monitor the overall health, performance, and stability of the core MPLS network.
- Perform advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 troubleshooting for MPLS VPNs, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Interior Gateway Protocols (OSPF/ISIS).
- Deployment &
- Migration
- Execute end-to-end site commissioning and decommissioning activities.
- Perform complex logical migrations of customer services between diverse hardware platforms with minimal risk.
- Maintenance Window (MW) Execution
- Carry out accurate configuration changes, software upgrades, and hardware replacements during scheduled night-time or early-morning maintenance windows.
- Strictly follow detailed Method of Procedures (MOPs) to guarantee zero-touch service impact and adhere to change management protocols.
- Documentation &
- Handover
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date logs of all network modifications and configuration changes.
- Update network topology diagrams and asset inventories following deployment.
- Provide comprehensive shift-handover reports to ensure continuous operational visibility across teams.
Required Skills &
- Qualifications
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on networking experience within a Service Provider or Enterprise ISP environment.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco IOS-XR.
- Deep understanding of MPLS (L2/L3 VPNs), BGP, and QoS frameworks.
- Operational Readiness: Ability to work in rotating shifts and maintain high focus and precision during high-pressure night-time cutovers.
