Role Description This is a part-time Mechanical Design Engineer role based in the Kolkata metropolitan area with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site collaboration and some work-from-home flexibility.

The Mechanical Design

Engineer will design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for medical devices, from concept through prototyping and refinement. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating detailed 3D models and engineering drawings, performing basic design calculations, and supporting design reviews. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, safety, and regulatory compliance,



as well as assisting in testing, documentation, and iterative improvements based on feedback.

The engineer will also help maintain design files, contribute to design standards, and support continuous enhancement of existing products.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with practical exposure to Design Engineering and Machine Design.
- Proficiency in Product Design, including concept development, prototyping, and refinement for mechanical assemblies.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling and detailed engineering drawings.
- Ability to perform basic mechanical calculations, apply engineering principles, and interpret technical specifications.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Experience or interest in medical devices or healthcare technology is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.
- Valuable communication skills and willingness to collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
