Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer is a full time, on-site role based at iMAC Design & Engineering Services in Ahmedabad. The person in this role will develop mechanical concepts, design components and assemblies, and support product development from initial requirements through to manufacturing. Daily responsibilities include creating and updating detailed CAD models and drawings, performing basic engineering calculations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on design reviews and feasibility assessments.

The Mechanical Design





Engineer will work closely with product designers and manufacturing personnel to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with performance and safety standards. Additional tasks include preparing technical documentation, supporting prototyping and testing, and contributing to continuous improvement of design processes and standards.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with the ability to apply core principles to real-world product development.
- Hands-on experience in Machine Design and Product Design, including component selection, mechanism design, and design for manufacturability.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and standards, and familiarity with materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and cross-functional coordination.
- Prior experience in product development, prototyping, or manufacturing environments is an advantage.
