You Will
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer –
- General Assembly (GA) with experience in two-wheeler, EV, or automotive assembly. The role will be responsible for developing, implementing, validating, and continuously improving GA manufacturing processes to achieve production, quality, cost, delivery, and safety targets.
The candidate will work closely with Design, NPD, Production, Quality, Purchase, Supplier Quality, Maintenance, and Tooling teams to ensure robust assembly processes from prototype and pilot builds through mass production.
To Be Successful, You Will Be Expected To
Manufacturing Process Development
- Develop and establish General Assembly processes and assembly sequences for two-wheelers/EVs.
- Define workstation layouts, process flow, manpower requirements, cycle time, and line balancing.
- Develop manufacturing processes for chassis, suspension, brakes, wheels, steering, body panels, electrical systems, battery, motor, and final vehicle assembly.
- Review engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and design changes from a manufacturing perspective.
- Drive Design for Manufacturing &
- Assembly (DFMA) improvements.
NPI &
- New Model Introduction
- Support prototype, pilot, validation, pre-production, and SOP builds.
- Develop manufacturing processes for new vehicle programs from concept to mass production.
- Identify manufacturing risks during product development and implement suitable countermeasures.
- Support ECR/ECN implementation and ensure changes are effectively incorporated into production.
- Conduct process trials and validation before production release.
Line Balancing &
- Productivity
- Conduct time studies and cycle-time analysis.
- Develop and maintain line balancing to achieve production targets.
- Identify bottlenecks and optimize manpower, equipment, and workstation utilization.
- Improve OEE, productivity, FPY, cycle time, and line efficiency.
- Analyze line capacity and support capacity enhancement initiatives.
Tooling, Fixtures &
- Equipment
- Develop specifications for jigs, fixtures, gauges, torque tools, and special-purpose tools.
- Coordinate with tooling and equipment suppliers for development and validation.
- Implement poka-yoke and error-proofing solutions.
- Identify opportunities for automation and semi-automation in assembly processes.
- Support installation, commissioning, and process validation of current equipment.
Quality &
- Process Improvement
- Prepare and maintain Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, SOPs, Work Instructions, and Process Parameters.
- Identify and resolve assembly-related issues such as:
- Fitment issues
- Torque-related failures
- Dimensional variation
- Component mismatch
- Harness routing issues
- Fastener-related defects
- Noise, vibration, and functional issues
- Conduct root-cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, 8D, etc.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce rejection, rework, and line stoppages.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S,
Poka-Yoke, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
- Improve ergonomics, operator efficiency, safety, and workstation design.
- Track and implement improvement projects with measurable benefits.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Design Engineering, NPD, Production, Quality, Supplier Quality, Purchase, Maintenance, and R&D; teams.
- Participate in design reviews and provide manufacturing feasibility inputs.
- Coordinate with suppliers for assembly process and component-related issues.
- Provide technical support to production teams for daily manufacturing challenges.

You must have any or a combination of any of the following skills:
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, Automobile, or related engineering discipline.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering / Process Engineering / Assembly Engineering.
- Hands-on experience in two-wheeler, EV, or automotive assembly is highly preferred.
- Strong shop-floor exposure with good understanding of production processes and manufacturing challenges.
