Job Overview The Service Centre Manager in T1S will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of One or more Service Centres on boarded for the purpose of servicing JSW One Customers purchasing Coils and/or Sheets. You will work closely with the central planner and the concerned Service Centre/s to ensure seamless operations and timely delivery of all the customer orders with in the promised timelines. This role requires a strong understanding of sheet metal work, team management, and a focus on operational excellence.Key Responsibilities
- Planning & Scheduling: Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet customer demands while maximizing Service Centre efficiency and minimizing downtime in consultation with the Service Centre. Work in close coordination with service centre to ensure slot optimization and prioritization of JSW One orders
- Daily Tracking & Compliance Monitoring Monitor processing and dispatch progress versus the approved plan. Flag deviations proactively and drive immediate corrective actions with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage plant supervisors and staff, ensuring effective communication, employee engagement, training, and development.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and guide the third party QC inspectors to Conduct material inspection as per ISO standard practices, QAP, and customer-specific requirements thereby ensuring ZERO complaints related to material quality. Ensure robust documentation and support timely PDI completion
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the plant, utilizing lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to optimize processes and enhance productivity.
- Compliance & Reporting: Work closely with the Service Centre to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management regarding production metrics, safety, quality, and other KPIs.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that the plant operates in compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards. Lead initiatives to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Stock Sales and Purchase book Management and Audit: Keep a well-documented daily record of all the incoming, serviced and outgoing material in the Service Centre and facilitate regular audits as per the company guidelines. Ensure all inward, processing, and dispatch entries are done timely and without errors.
Coordinate all the work with the auditors as per the company guidelines.
- Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile JSW One book stock with service center physical stock and documentation. Submit daily MIS covering production, dispatch, stock movement, and process rejections.
- Planning & Dispatch Within Defined Timelines: Ensure all orders are planned and dispatched on time and in full within the committed timelines. Maintain zero internal delay impacting OTIF.
Basic Qualification
- Educational Background: A Diploma or Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) is a plus.
- Experience: 5-6 years of experience for Diploma, 2-3 years for Bachelors in any company related to Sheet Metal working environment
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and industry standards. Experience with process optimization and cost control is essential.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams, with solid interpersonal skills and the ability to foster a positive work environment.
- Problem-solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions quickly.
- Health & Safety Focus: In-depth knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and experience in implementing safety protocols in manufacturing environments.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior management, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business needs and to drive innovation in plant operations.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and other plant management tools.
