About CRA Energy

CRA Energy is a Noida-based manufacturer of custom-engineered process equipment for oil and gas, chemical, biogas/CBG, food and beverage, power, mining, and defence sectors. Our product range includes gas flaring systems, thermal oxidisers, vapour combustion units, biogas compression and upgrading skids, gas processing skids, burner management systems, and industrial burners. We deliver across India and to international markets.

The Role

As our order book grows in volume and complexity, we are adding a dedicated project controls capability covering the entire live order book. You will own cost and schedule control across all active projects: budget at order, committed cost, forecast at completion, margin variance, master schedule, milestone billing, and the reporting that senior management runs the business on. This is a portfolio role.

Reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities

Cost and margin

- Set the project budget at order from the approved estimate and maintain it through execution.
- Track committed and actual cost across bought-out items, outsourced fabrication, shop hours, freight, and site work.
- Maintain a forecast cost at completion for every order and report margin variance against the margin at order.
- Flag margin erosion early, with the cause identified.
- Feed completed-project actual costs and cost benchmarks back to the Proposals team to improve estimating accuracy.

Schedule and reporting

- Own the consolidated project register: owner, stage, contractual and forecast dates, budget and forecast for every live order.




- Maintain the master schedule and identify critical-path risks and capacity conflicts.
- Operate milestone-weighted physical progress measurement across product families.
- Publish the weekly portfolio pack and prepare the monthly management review deck.
- Validate and, where necessary, challenge progress and cost inputs from project teams.

Billing and cash

- Maintain the billing milestone schedule and trigger invoicing on milestone completion.
- Track invoiced, received and overdue amounts, together with advances, retention and bank guarantee expiry.

Systems and process

- Define the cost breakdown structure and the cost capture framework across procurement and production.
- Establish templates, definitions and review cadence so portfolio reporting is repeatable.
- Drive project cost tracking within our ERP environment.

Requirements

Must Have

- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, Production or Industrial Engineering.
- 5 to 9 years in project controls, project cost engineering, or planning and cost roles within engineered-to-order equipment manufacturing, EPC, or capital projects.
- Demonstrated cost control ownership, not scheduling alone.



You should be able to describe a cost-at-completion forecast you built, the data you built it from, and the decision it changed.
- Experience tracking many concurrent orders at different stages, rather than deep controls work on a single large project.
- Advanced Excel, to the level of building and maintaining a live multi-project tracking model independently.
- MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of billing milestones, advances, retention and LDs, and how commercial terms translate into a cash schedule.
- Comfortable validating and challenging progress and cost inputs, and holding a position under pressure.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Delhi NCR.

Preferred

- Process equipment OEM background rather than only EPC or owner side.
- International order exposure: export documentation, letters of credit, third-party inspection.
- ERP-based project cost tracking (ERPNext, SAP PS, or similar).
- PSU or defence project documentation experience.
- Power BI, Looker Studio, or similar reporting tools.
- AACE CCP / CEP, PMI-SP, or equivalent cost or scheduling certification.
