The RoleThis is a rare hybrid position. You will function as the editorial backbone of the studio - cutting across feature films, series, trailers, and digital content - while simultaneously managing the operational and delivery infrastructure of the studio end to end.
You think like a director. You operate like a studio head. You are accountable for every frame that leaves the studio.
The ideal candidate has grown through the edit suite, understands storytelling at a structural level, and is now ready to own not just the cut but the entire pipeline that surrounds it - from shoot to screen.
ResponsibilitiesStudio & Pipeline Management
- Own the studio's end-to-end post-production workflow - from ingest and asset management to final delivery
- Build and maintain delivery pipelines for OTT platforms, theatrical distribution, YouTube, and broadcast
- Manage all technical deliverables: codec specs, colour standards, audio stems, subtitle files, DCP packages, and platform-specific requirements
- Oversee the organisation and archiving of all studio assets across projects
- Set and enforce quality control standards across all outgoing content
- Manage the edit team's workload, schedules, and deadlines across simultaneous projects
- Identify bottlenecks and build systems to eliminate them
- External Coordination & Deliveries
- Act as the primary point of contact for all delivery-related communication with OTT platforms, distributors, and theatrical partners
- Coordinate with government bodies, film certification authorities and archival institutions as required
- Liaise with international co-production partners, foreign studios, and distribution counterparts
- Maintain working relationships with clients, sponsors, and commissioning editors
- Coordinate with field teams - naturalists,
scientists, conservation advisors, location producers - to ensure editorial requirements are communicated before and during shoots
- Manage relationships with post-production vendors: colourists, sound designers, VFX studios, music composers, and dubbing houses
- Editorial - Lead Editor
- Lead the edit on feature films, documentary series, and long-form factual content
- Build and refine narrative structure from raw footage - paper edits, assembly cuts, rough cuts, fine cuts
- Cut promos, trailers, and pitch reels that represent the studio's voice accurately
- Edit and oversee YouTube and episodic content for long-form digital platforms
- Produce short-form content - reels, teasers, shorts - adapted across platforms and aspect ratios
- Provide creative direction and mentorship to junior editors & designers
- Collaborate directly with the director and creative lead on all editorial decisions
What We're Looking ForNon-negotiable
- Minimum 7-8 years of professional editing experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead editorial role
- Strong body of work in factual, documentary, or non-fiction content
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; DaVinci Resolve is a robust advantage
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, people, and timelines simultaneously
- Previous experience coordinating with external parties — distributors, clients, or co-production partners
Why This Role
- Full ownership of the studio's creative output - not a support function, a leadership one
- Work across feature films, OTT series, live experiences, and digital - rarely one format
- Direct collaboration with the studio's founder and director
- Projects with genuine global reach and conservation impact
- A lean team where your decisions matter and your work is visible
