Role Description This is a full-time, in office Laboratory Technician role based in Silchar.
The Laboratory
Technician will perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, handle and prepare specimens, and operate and maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures. The role includes adhering to strict quality control protocols, documenting test results accurately, and assisting in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in the lab. The technician will collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards,
and support continuous improvement of laboratory processes.
The position may also involve participation in internal audits, inventory management of reagents and supplies, and training support for new team members.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including analyzers, microscopes, and other diagnostic instruments.
- Strong laboratory skills and competency in specimen handling, test execution, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Experience in quality control, including calibration, control runs, and documentation to meet accreditation and regulatory requirements.
- Well-developed analytical skills to interpret test results, identify discrepancies, and support accurate diagnosis.
- Prior experience working as a laboratory technician in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory setting.
- Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related scientific field from a recognized institution.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, infection control, and good laboratory practices.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment.
- Basic computer literacy for laboratory information systems and report generation.
- Willingness to work in shifts as required and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
