The Academic Counsellor will be responsible for counselling prospective students and parents, understanding their educational and career goals, recommending suitable courses, and converting enquiries into admissions while maintaining excellent student service.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle student enquiries through phone calls, walk-ins, WhatsApp and other communication channels.
- Understand students’ academic backgrounds, interests and career objectives.
- Provide accurate information about courses, eligibility, fees, scholarships, duration, career opportunities and placement support.
- Counsel students and parents and recommend suitable courses based on their requirements.
- Follow up regularly with prospective students and convert enquiries into admissions.
- Maintain proper records of enquiries, follow-ups, counselling and admission status in the CRM/ERP.
- Achieve assigned daily, weekly and monthly enquiry, admission and collection targets.
- Coordinate with the Marketing and Telecalling team for lead generation and follow-up.
- Conduct campus visits and course presentations for prospective students.
- Explain admission procedures, required documents, fee structure and payment options.
- Ensure timely collection of admission documents and fees.
- Maintain regular follow-up with students until the admission process is completed.
- Coordinate with the Academic and Administrative teams for smooth student onboarding.
- Participate in admission campaigns, seminars, career counselling programmes, education fairs and promotional activities.
- Prepare daily reports and submit counselling/admission updates to the reporting manager.
- Maintain professional communication and build a positive relationship with students and parents.
- Ensure all information provided to students is accurate and aligned with institute policies.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good counselling and convincing ability.
- Strong follow-up and lead-conversion skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in MS Office/CRM/ERP.
- Target-oriented and self-motivated approach.
- Ability to handle students and parents professionally.
- Good knowledge of educational and vocational courses is preferred.
Qualification & Experience
- Minimum Qualification: Graduate in any discipline.
- Experience: 1–3 years in academic counselling, education sales, admissions, telecalling or a similar role preferred.
- Freshers with excellent communication and convincing skills may also be considered.

Reporting
Reports To: Centre Head / Administrative In-Charge / Branch Manager
Pay: ₹12,370.62 - ₹16,451.97 per month
