About the Team
The Monetization Platforms department is one of the strategic units within Corporate IT and is responsible for Design, development & management of Billing, Licensing and Subscription Solutions as three central services across the ZEISS Group worldwide.
Your Role
As a Support Devops Engineer (Global Role) with 2-7 years, you are responsible for the support and handling incidents for Licensing platform at Zeiss.
Your key responsibilities:
Must-Have Skills (Non-Negotiable):
- Solid understanding of software licensing processes and workflows (entitlements, activations, renewals, deactivations)
- Proven ability to analyze technical logs, traces, and telemetry and to reproduce incidents in test environments
- Strong experience working with ticketing systems for handling incidents and service requests
- Basic hands-on experience with SAP (navigation, reading key business data, understanding process context)
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, including explaining technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
- Customer-oriented mindset with a structured and reliable working style
- Strong ability to prioritize and self-organize in a dynamic workplace with parallel tickets, requests, and stakeholders
Core Technical Requirements:
- Experience in monitoring and operating productive IT services (dashboards, alerts, basic KPIs)
- Ability to collect, correlate, and interpret logs from different system components (backend services, clients, infrastructure)
- Familiarity with licensing tools or providers (e.g. Thales, Flexera, Wibu)
or comparable enterprise licensing solutions
- Experience using remote support tools and structured approaches to reproduce issues in test or staging environments
- Practical experience with documentation tools (e.g. Confluence, MS SharePoint, wiki systems) for end-user and internal documentation
- Basic understanding of cloud-based applications and their operational aspects (availability, incidents, changes)
Broader Responsibilities the Candidate Will Own:
- Handling incidents, problems, and standard service requests related to the central licensing solutions
- Monitoring the health and performance of licensing services, reacting to alerts, and initiating appropriate actions
- Reproducing issues in dedicated environments and providing clear, structured input to development teams
- Creating and maintaining end-user documentation, how-to guides, and knowledge base articles
- Preparing and delivering trainings and onboarding sessions for key users and support stakeholders
- Creating well-documented bug reports and change requests for developers, including logs, steps to reproduce, impact, and context
- Acting as a bridge between end users, business stakeholders, and development/operations teams
Basic Requirements:
- University degree in IT, Business Informatics, or a comparable field, or equivalent practical experience
- Professional experience in IT service, application support, or operations, ideally in an enterprise context
- Practical exposure to licensing-related processes in software or IT services
- Basic experience working with SAP environments from an application or support perspective
- High level of service orientation, reliability, and ownership for assigned tickets and tasks
Solid understanding of:
- End-to-end licensing processes and their impact on customers and internal business processes
- Reading and interpreting application and system logs to identify patterns, root causes, and next steps
- How to translate user-reported issues into actionable, structured information for development teams
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams (Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, Business users, Product Owner)
- The importance of clear documentation, communication, and knowledge sharing to ensure stable operations and user satisfaction
