Company Description OneStepGreener is a tech-driven climate action organization focused on zero waste, recycling, afforestation, and climate awareness to combat air pollution. Originating as a home waste-segregation project in Delhi, it now operates in 14 cities across India, diverting recyclable waste from households and institutions. OneStepGreener also advances afforestation efforts, having planted tens of thousands of native trees, and leads behavior-change and youth mobilization initiatives through guides, digital tools, workshops, cleanup drives, and climate projects. Role Description The HSE Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurgaon, responsible for overseeing health, safety, and environmental standards across waste collection operations, material recovery facilities, and related sites. This role includes conducting regular safety inspections, monitoring compliance with local regulations and internal policies, and identifying risks in daily recycling and logistics activities. The HSE Supervisor will develop and implement HSE procedures, deliver training and toolbox talks, and maintain records of incidents, corrective actions, and safety performance indicators.
The position also involves collaborating with operations,
fleet, and facility teams to embed safe work practices, manage emergency preparedness plans, and support continuous improvement in environmental performance and worker well-being. The supervisor will engage with diverse workforce groups, ensuring inclusive, practical safety communication and adherence to best practices on the ground.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, environmental compliance requirements, and HSE management systems.
- Experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Ability to design and deliver HSE training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions tailored to varied education and experience levels.
- Solid communication, documentation, and reporting skills, including maintaining HSE records and presenting data-driven insights.
- Hands-on experience in industrial operations, waste management, logistics, or similar field environments is highly beneficial.
- Relevant certification or education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in using digital tools for monitoring, reporting, and training (e.g., spreadsheets, HSE apps, incident tracking systems).
- Proactive, detail-oriented approach with the ability to work in office, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and respond effectively in emergencies.
