for Hostel Incharge (Ex-Army - Hotel / Food Service Background)

Job Summary

We are seeking a disciplined, responsible, and experienced Hostel Incharge with a background in the Army, Hotel Management, or Food Service. The candidate will be responsible for the overall administration of the hostel and mess, ensuring high standards of discipline, cleanliness, food quality, safety, and resident satisfaction.

Key ResponsibilitiesHostel Administration

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the hostel.
- Ensure discipline, safety, and security of all residents and staff.
- Oversee room allocation, admissions, check-ins, and check-outs.
- Maintain hostel occupancy records and resident documentation.
- Address resident concerns and resolve complaints promptly.
- Conduct regular inspections of hostel facilities and common areas.
- Coordinate maintenance activities for electrical, plumbing, civil, and other repairs.
- Maintain inventory of hostel furniture, equipment, and consumables.

Mess Management Responsibilities

- Oversee the complete operation of the hostel mess.
- Plan and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly menus to ensure balanced and nutritious meals.
- Supervise kitchen staff, cooks, and mess attendants.
- Ensure timely preparation and service of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
- Monitor food quality, taste, hygiene, and portion control.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and FSSAI standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining hall, food storage, and utensils.
- Monitor procurement, storage, and stock of food materials to minimize wastage.
- Maintain records of food inventory, consumption, vendor supplies, and mess expenses.




- Coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement of quality raw materials.
- Ensure preventive maintenance of kitchen equipment and appliances.
- Handle resident feedback regarding food quality and implement improvements.
- Monitor mess budget and control operational costs without compromising quality.

Staff Supervision

- Supervise housekeeping, security, kitchen, and maintenance staff.
- Prepare duty rosters and monitor attendance and performance.
- Train staff on hygiene, safety, customer service, and operational procedures.

Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with health, fire, and safety regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections for hygiene and security.
- Implement emergency response procedures and incident reporting.

Reporting

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
- Report occupancy, maintenance issues, food costs, inventory status, and resident feedback to management.

Qualifications

- Ex-Army personnel preferred.

Required Skills

- Solid leadership and people management skills.
- Experience in hostel and mess administration.
- Knowledge of food safety, housekeeping, and facility management.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Inventory and vendor management skills.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, email, reporting).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage emergencies.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
