Role Description This is a full-time Histopathology Technician role in a hybrid work arrangement, based in the Bangalore Urban district, with some tasks suitable for remote work such as documentation and digital reporting.
The Histopathology
Technician will handle specimen receipt, labeling, and accessioning, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation of samples. Daily responsibilities include tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining (including special and immunohistochemical stains as applicable), and slide preparation according to laboratory protocols. The role involves maintaining laboratory equipment, managing reagents and consumables, and strictly adhering to quality control, biosafety, and infection control standards.
The technician will collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory professionals to support timely diagnosis, participate in report preparation and data entry, and help maintain compliance with relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Histology and Pathology skills for tissue processing, staining, and slide preparation.
- Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Human Anatomy to support accurate specimen orientation and interpretation.
- Candidates should possess core Laboratory Skills for sample handling, equipment operation, and adherence to safety procedures.
- Candidates should possess competence in Laboratory Medicine concepts, including quality control and standardized diagnostic workflows.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Histopathology, or related field from a recognized institution.
- Experience working in a histopathology or surgical pathology laboratory, preferably in a hospital or diagnostic center.
- Attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and ability to follow written protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and manage time effectively in a high-volume environment.
- Basic computer skills, including laboratory information systems and digital reporting tools, are beneficial.
