Role Description The Head of Department for Applied Science will provide academic and administrative leadership for the department, including planning, implementing, and reviewing curricula, teaching methodologies, and assessment strategies to ensure high-quality education.

Responsibilities include supervising faculty, mentoring team members, coordinating teaching schedules, overseeing laboratories, and promoting research, interdisciplinary projects, and industry collaborations. The role involves monitoring student performance,



fostering learner-centric teaching practices, supporting student initiatives, and ensuring compliance with institutional and accreditation standards. The Head of Department will also contribute to strategic planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and quality assurance, while representing the department in institutional meetings and external forums.

This is a full-time on-site role based at CGC Landran, located near Chandigarh.

Qualifications

- Advanced academic qualifications in Applied Science or related disciplines (Ph.D. preferred) and a strong record of teaching and academic leadership.

- Experience in curriculum design, academic planning, and implementation of outcome-based education and continuous evaluation practices.

- Proven ability to lead and mentor faculty teams, manage departmental operations, and coordinate timetables, workloads, and academic resources.

- Demonstrated engagement in research, publications, funded projects, and collaborations with industry or academic bodies.

- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills to work effectively with students, faculty, administration, and external partners.

- Experience with accreditation processes, quality assurance frameworks, and compliance with regulatory guidelines in higher education.

- Ability to use educational technologies, learning management systems, and data-driven approaches to enhance teaching and departmental performance.
