Principal Duties And Responsibilities As a Consultant in Data Science, you will play a key role in enabling data-driven transformation by designing, developing, and deploying analytical solutions that support business decision-making. You will work closely with business, technology, and data teams to translate complex business problems into actionable insights, predictive models, and scalable data science solutions.

- Data Analysis &
- Insight Generation: Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business objectives and transformation outcomes.
- Model Development: Design, build, test, and refine statistical, machine learning, Generative AI, large language model, and predictive models to solve business problems and improve decision-making.
- Business Problem Solving: Work with stakeholders to understand business challenges, define analytical and Gen AI use cases, and translate requirements into data science approaches.




- Data Preparation &
- Feature Engineering: Support data extraction, cleaning, transformation, and feature engineering activities to ensure high-quality inputs for analysis and modelling.
- Model Evaluation &
- Validation: Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics, validate outputs with stakeholders, and ensure analytical solutions are robust, explainable, and fit for purpose.
- Gen AI Solution Development: Support the design and development of Generative AI solutions, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation approaches, LLM evaluation, and responsible AI considerations.
- Data Visualization &
- Storytelling: Develop dashboards, visualizations, and presentations to communicate analytical findings and model outputs in a explicit, business-friendly manner.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with business teams, data engineers, technology teams, and SMEs to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and support implementation of data science and Gen AI solutions.
- Solution Enablement: Support the deployment, adoption, and ongoing improvement of analytics and AI solutions, ensuring alignment with programme objectives, governance standards, and end-user needs.

Qualifications

- MBA from a Tier 1 institution or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.





Industry/ Functional Skills (Preferred)

- Ability to translate complex business problems into analytical approaches and data science or Gen AI solutions.
- Strong understanding of statistical modelling, machine learning techniques, Generative AI concepts, LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG patterns, and model evaluation methods.
- Experience in building and communicating data-driven insights through dashboards, visualizations, and executive-ready presentations.
- Familiarity with data governance, model explainability, responsible AI, and analytics delivery best practices.
- Understanding of public sector operating environments, citizen-facing services, policy-driven transformation, and government stakeholder expectations is preferred.
- Ability to work across business and technology teams to support the design, validation, and implementation of analytical and Gen AI solutions.
