About the Role

We are looking for a Game UI Designer II to craft polished visually striking interface art for our games. In this role you will take defined UI directions, wireframes, and style guides and turn them into production-ready screens, HUDs, icons, and assets that hold up across resolutions and platforms. You will work closely with senior UI designers, artists, engineers, and clients—owning individual screens and features end to end while contributing to the studio’s shared UI component libraries.

This is a hands-on craft role for someone who has moved past the fundamentals and is ready to deliver quality work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

- Produce high-quality game UI art including menus, HUDs, overlays, pop-ups, and in-game screens based on established art direction.
- Translate wireframes, references, and mood boards into finished, production-ready UI screens and assets.
- Design and deliver icons, buttons, frames, panels, progress bars, and other UI elements with a consistent visual language.
- Prepare, export, and hand off optimised UI assets (sprite sheets, 9-slice, atlases, naming conventions) to the development team.
- Adapt UI layouts across multiple screen sizes, aspect ratios, and platforms without breaking visual quality.
- Follow and help extend UI style guides and component libraries to keep screens consistent across the game.
- Iterate quickly on feedback from designers, art leads, playtests, and client reviews.
- Collaborate with engineers to confirm assets are technically feasible, performant, and implemented as intended.
- Support designers in usability and readability checks, flagging clarity issues early.
- Maintain organised, well-named source files so work can be picked up and reused by the team.
- Actively use AI-powered design tools to accelerate ideation, visual exploration, and asset production.
- Keep up with current game UI trends, genre benchmarks, and visual standards across mobile, PC, and console.





Required Skills & Qualifications

- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Game UI Design or Game UI Art (mobile, PC, console, or cross-platform).
- A strong portfolio demonstrating game UI screens, HUDs, menus, and icon work portfolio link is mandatory with the application.
- Proficiency in Figma and Photoshop (both essential).
- Strong, demonstrable command of AI tools for UI ideation, mood boards, and visual exploration. This is a core expectation of the role, we expect the candidate to use AI tools to the fullest to raise productivity, quality, and design output to current industry standards, not to treat them as optional extras.
- Strong visual fundamentals: layout, composition, typography, colour theory, and iconography.
- Good understanding of game UX basics - hierarchy, readability, and player flow.
- Ability to work to an established style guide and stay consistent across a large set of screens.
- Experience designing for multiple resolutions, aspect ratios, and platforms.
- Transparent communication skills and comfort receiving and applying feedback in a quick-paced production environment.
- Awareness of ongoing game UI trends and evolving player expectations.

Nice-to-Have

- Hands-on experience implementing UI in Unity (UGUI / UI Toolkit) or Unreal (UMG).
- Familiarity with UI animation, transitions, and motion design (After Effects, Spine, Rive, or similar).
- Experience on a live game or a shipped title.
- Understanding of performance considerations and memory budgets for game UI, and of player-friendly UI practices.
- Exposure to client-facing reviews or presenting work to stakeholders.
