Overview

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer with 7–10 years of hands-on experience building and scaling full-stack applications. This role goes beyond conventional development — we want an engineer who actively uses AI-assisted engineering practices (tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar) as a core part of their workflow, and who can help raise the team's productivity and code quality through these practices. You will design, build, and maintain applications that directly support programs serving communities across India.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Node.js (Express) or Next.js, and/or Python on the backend and React / React Native on the frontend.
- Own database design and optimization — write performant SQL, design schemas, and manage data integrity across environments.
- Build and integrate REST APIs and third-party system integrations.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or equivalent) for code generation, refactoring, test authoring, and documentation — while applying strong engineering judgment to review, validate, and harden AI-generated code.
- Champion AI-assisted engineering practices within the team: share effective prompting patterns, evaluate new tooling, and help define guardrails for responsible use.
- Lead technical design discussions, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior developers.
- Maintain code quality using Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines; participate in deployment and release processes.




- Collaborate with product, design, and program teams to translate requirements into robust, maintainable technical solutions.
- Perform testing, debugging, performance optimization, and production support.

What We Are Looking For

- 7–10 years of experience in software application development, with significant full-stack ownership.
- Robust proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js — Express or Next.js) and/or Python for backend services, scripting, and APIs.
- Strong proficiency in React and/or React Native with TypeScript, including modern patterns (hooks, state management, component architecture).
- Deep working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) — query optimization, schema design, migrations.
- Demonstrated, practical experience with AI-assisted engineering — using LLM-based coding tools in real projects, with the judgment to know when and how to rely on them.
- Experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of REST API design and system integration.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional, non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality output within deadlines.

Good to Have

- Experience building Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) or offline-first applications.
- Exposure to Supabase / Firebase or similar backend platforms.
- Experience designing for low-connectivity, low-literacy, or multilingual users.
- Prior experience in the social sector or mission-driven organizations.
