Associate – Founder’s Office
Location: Gurugram, in office | Reporting to: Founder & Managing Partner | Experience: 1–4 years
About the FirmWe are a Gurugram-based financial services firm serving Family Offices, UHNIs, and institutional investors. We manage over $300 Mn in assets across advisory & distribution, managed accounts, structured debt, and equity (PMS & AIF), with a differentiated focus on India’s emerging-cap and mid-cap segment. The group operates across investment banking, NBFC, stock broking, and financial advisory verticals — giving this role rare cross-vertical exposure early in a career.
About the FounderThe Founder & Managing Partner is a CFA charterholder and engineer from a top-tier institute, with 10+ years across strategy consulting, M&A;, mezzanine & equity fund raising, and early-stage investing. He has led organisation-wide transformation mandates for marquee Indian and global clients. You will work directly with him, daily.
The RoleThis is a hybrid Chief-of-Staff-in-training and Executive Assistant role. Roughly 60% of your time will go to strategic and analytical work — research, MIS, client materials, and cross-vertical projects — and 40% to running the Founder’s Office: managing his calendar, communications, follow-ups, and the operating rhythm of the leadership team. You will see how a multi-vertical financial services firm is actually run, from client acquisition to regulatory compliance to capital allocation.
Strategic & Analytical (≈60%)
- Own and drive strategic initiatives across verticals — hiring plans, capacity planning, revenue tracking, and new business evaluation — from framing to execution.
- Conduct market, competitor, and regulatory research (SEBI/RBI landscape, product structures, industry benchmarks) to support investment and business decisions.
- Prepare client-facing and internal materials: investment decks, portfolio performance reports, MIS dashboards, and board/leadership review packs.
- Track key projects across teams, chase action items to closure, and flag risks to the Founder before they become problems.
- Support due diligence and analysis on advisory, consulting, and investment mandates as they arise.
Founder’s Office & Executive Support (≈40%)
- Manage the Founder’s calendar, meeting cadence, and travel (domestic and international), prioritising ruthlessly on his behalf.
- Draft and manage correspondence with clients, bankers, regulators, and partners — including sensitive and confidential communication.
- Prepare the Founder for meetings: briefing notes, background on counterparties, agendas, and follow-up trackers.
- Act as the interface between the Founder and internal teams, external stakeholders, and professional networks (e.g., industry bodies and founder communities).
- Handle select personal-office administrative matters with discretion and reliability.
What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)
- The Founder’s calendar, follow-ups, and commitments run without leakage — nothing falls through the cracks.
- Leadership reviews run on accurate, on-time MIS that you own end-to-end.
- You have independently driven at least two cross-vertical projects from brief to closure.
- Client and partner communications you draft go out with minimal edits.
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience: 1–4 years in consulting, financial services, a founder’s office, or a high-intensity operations/strategy role. Exceptional freshers from top campuses with relevant internships will also be considered.
- Education: Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Engineering. CFA Level 1 / NISM certifications / an interest in capital markets is a strong plus.
- Skills: Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; comfort with numbers, dashboards, and financial statements. Familiarity with AI tools for research and drafting is valued.
- Communication: Excellent written and spoken English; ability to communicate credibly with UHNI clients, senior bankers, and regulators.
- Temperament: Absolute discretion with confidential information, extreme ownership, speed with accuracy, and comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities. You anticipate rather than wait to be told.
- Logistics: Based in / willing to relocate to Gurugram; flexibility for occasional travel and extended hours during critical periods.
Why This Role
- Direct, daily apprenticeship under a CFA charterholder founder with a consulting and M&A; pedigree — the fastest way to compress a decade of learning into a few years.
- Cross-vertical exposure across wealth management, investment banking, NBFC lending, and broking that no single-vertical job can offer.
- A genuine track to Chief of Staff or a vertical leadership role for the right performer.
- Front-row seat to how India’s Family Offices and UHNIs invest, and how an emerging-cap franchise is built.
