About the Role

Dalhousie Public School, New Chandigarh, is looking for a passionate and experienced Football Coach to lead and develop the school’s football programme. The coach will be responsible for training students across age groups, developing technical and tactical skills, preparing teams for competitions, and promoting discipline, teamwork, fitness, and sportsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and conduct structured football training sessions for students across different age groups and skill levels.
- Develop students’ technical, tactical, physical and mental abilities in football.
- Identify talented and promising players and provide focused development plans.
- Prepare school teams for inter-school, district, state and other competitive tournaments.
- Plan match strategies, formations, drills and game plans based on the team and opposition.
- Conduct regular fitness, agility, endurance, speed and strength training relevant to football.
- Monitor individual student performance and maintain appropriate progress records.
- Organise practice matches, trials and internal football activities.
- Ensure proper use, maintenance and safe handling of football equipment and sports facilities.
- Promote discipline, teamwork, leadership, respect and a positive sporting attitude among students.
- Ensure students follow appropriate warm-up, cool-down, hydration and injury prevention practices.
- Work closely with the Head of Sports, PE Department, Housemasters and school administration.
- Assist in organising the school’s sports events, tournaments, camps and football related activities.
- Accompany and supervise students during matches, tournaments, training camps and sporting trips, as required.




- Keep up to date with modern football coaching techniques, training methodologies and developments in the sport.
- Maintain a secure, inclusive and encouraging training environment for all students.

- Strong knowledge of football techniques, tactics and training methodologies.
- Excellent communication and student-management skills.
- Ability to motivate and mentor young athletes.
- Strong understanding of age-appropriate training and player development.
- Good leadership, discipline and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a school sports team.
- Passion for developing football at the school level.
- Professional and responsible approach towards student safety and wellbeing.
- Knowledge or experience in additional sports activities will be an added advantage.

Qualifications & Experience

- Graduate/Diploma in Physical Education, Sports or a related field will be preferred.
- Relevant football coaching certification/licence from a recognised federation or coaching body will be an advantage.
- 3–5 years of relevant football coaching experience, preferably in a school, academy or sports institution.
- Experience in preparing students for competitive football tournaments will be preferred.
- Candidates with a strong playing background and demonstrable coaching experience may also be considered.
