Role Purpose The Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing technical service and support for installed systems across the assigned territory. The role ensures optimal instrument performance through installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer support activities while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The position works closely with customers, sales teams, application specialists, and internal stakeholders to support business growth and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide timely onsite technical support to customers, Field Application Scientists/Specialists, and Territory Sales Managers.
- Install, commission, upgrade, repair, and maintain instrument systems within the assigned territory.
- Respond promptly to service requests and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system-related issues in a timely manner.
- Manage and maintain service parts inventory to ensure availability of critical components.
- Maintain accurate customer records, technical documentation, service reports, and relevant databases.
- Prepare and submit timely service reports and documentation as required.
- Collaborate with sales, applications, and operations teams to support new instrument installations, identify business opportunities, promote upgrades, and support service contract renewals.
- Maintain regular communication with existing customers to strengthen relationships and identify service needs.
- Participate in product and technical training programs, including international training programs when required.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards, service procedures, and safety requirements.

- Exposure to biotechnology, genomics, life sciences, or biomedical instrumentation.
- Familiarity with optical alignments and automated laboratory systems.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and service contract management.
- Experience working in quick-paced, customer-centric environments.
Education & Experience
- Essential: BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in field service, technical support, or instrumentation maintenance within the biotechnology, diagnostics, medical devices, or life sciences industry.
