Role Description The Estimation Engineer is a full-time role responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and bills of quantities (BOQ) for steel fabrication and related civil engineering projects. Based in New Delhi in a hybrid work arrangement, the role combines on-site collaboration with some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing drawings and specifications, analyzing material and labor requirements, obtaining and comparing vendor quotations, and preparing detailed project costing reports.

The Estimation

Engineer will coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify requirements, manage changes in scope, and support negotiation of project budgets.



The role also involves maintaining estimation databases, conducting market and technical research, and contributing to continuous improvement of costing processes.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong BOQ preparation and project estimation skills, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in civil engineering or related disciplines, including understanding of construction methods and material properties.
- Candidates should possess effective negotiation and vendor management skills to support pricing discussions and contract terms.
- Candidates should possess research and analytical skills to gather market rates, benchmark costs, and validate technical and commercial assumptions.
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in estimation and MS Office tools; experience with CAD or specialized estimation software is an advantage.
- Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a hybrid work setting.
