Brief :
Technical Team Leader - Switchgear Services – Travelling:
- To meet current demands and support our customers in the deployment, maintenance, repair and modification of Switchgear Systems in the best possible way there is opportunity for a number of roles within our Services Organisation. To meet this demand, we are recruiting experience Field Service Engineers to provide consistent quality and support to customers across the EMEA region. The roles will be based out of our Ireland Services Operating unit and will support sites across EMEA. The role will involve extensive travel across the region.
Responsibilities and Measurement Criteria with Time investment Needed on Each: (This will describe the overall core responsibilities of the role, decision making responsibilities etc.)
- Assist Delivery of project site works on LV switchgear panels – Site reconnection involving mechanical and electrical reconnection of switch panels on site:
- Ensuring all connections are correctly torqued & fastened.
- Thorough visual examination.
- Low Ohm (Ductor test) across all panel splits.
- Insulation resistance and High Voltage Pressure tests.
- Electrical Function tests.
- Final checks and customer handover.
- Assist in the completion of preventative maintenance tasks for all aspects of LV switchgear panels:
- Non-intrusive visual checks.
- Thermal imagery checks.
- ACB Maintenance including secondary injection tests.
- MCCB Maintenance including secondary injection tests.
- Low Ohm (Ductor)/Insulation Resistance checks.
- Assist with Re-torquing of electrical connections.
- Functional testing.
- PDU Maintenance.
- PFC Maintenance.
- ATS Maintenance.
- Preparation of all tools, test equipment and site documentation for project/maintenance activities.
- Daily interaction with back-office personnel.
- Completion of site related paperwork, ensuring documentation is signed off by all relevant parties and uploaded to client portals in a timely manner.
- Responsibility for safe working practices on-site and ensuring all relevant HSE procedures are adhered to.
- Assume Site Person in Charge/Lead Engineer responsibilities.
- Assume a supervisory role for a team of ~ 8 Customer Engineers.
- Provide close support to Technical Manager.
- Be willing to undertake varying levels of security clearance & criminal record checking for customer sites that have enhanced security procedures.
- Attend customer sites across a defined geographical area.
Qualifications:
Required/ Minimum Qualifications:
- Recognized qualification in an Engineering discipline.
Additional / Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a site / client facing role.
- Experience with dealing with clients/customers in a professional manner.
- Excellent knowledge of electrical panel testing & fault finding.
- Excellent Understanding of LV Switchgear and Protection devices.
- Excellent Working knowledge of Electrical Drawings/Control Systems.
- Excellent attitude to safety and good understanding of safe isolation and electrical safety and safe working practices.
- Familiar with maintaining accurate and detailed completion of test documentation.
- Proficiency in conducting Client Factory Acceptance Tests / Site Acceptance Tests.
- Knowledge of PC Software & reasonable understanding of IT.
- Excellent communicator – ability to deal with difficult clients under pressure.
- Fully flexible to work additional hours and nights/weekends.
- This is a site-based role and majority of work time will be based in office or travelling, the role will include extensive overseas travel.
- Full driving license is desirable.
