Embedded EngineerExperience: ~2 years Location: [On site , Electronics City -Bangalore ] Type: Full-time
Read this firstThis is a startup. Things break, specs change mid-sprint, and you'll often be the only person standing between "it should work" and "it works on the actual board at 11pm." If you like hard problems, want real ownership from day one, and don't need someone checking your work every step — apply. If you're looking for a well-defined role with clear boundaries and low ambiguity, this probably isn't it. Please don't apply otherwise — it'll be a bad fit for both of us.
What you'll do
- Own firmware development end-to-end — from architecture to bring-up to field debugging
- Build and maintain applications on Zephyr RTOS / FreeRTOS across our product line
- Work directly with hardware — bring up current boards, debug at the register/oscilloscope level, and work closely with the hardware team on schematic/layout reviews
- Write drivers for sensors, communication peripherals, and custom hardware
- Own power management, boot flows, and OTA update pipelines
- Debug production issues that show up only in the field — and ship the fix
- Make real architectural calls with minimal oversight, and live with the consequences
What you need
- ~2 years of hands-on embedded systems experience
- Solid working experience with Zephyr RTOS or FreeRTOS — device tree/Kconfig and driver-level work on Zephyr, or equivalent hands-on RTOS experience with FreeRTOS — this is non-negotiable
- Strong C, comfortable with C++
- Real experience with peripherals: SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN, etc.
- Comfortable with a debugger, JTAG/SWD, logic analyzer, and oscilloscope — not just simulators
- Git fluency and basic understanding of CI for embedded builds
- Ability to read a datasheet cover to cover without complaining about it
Bonus points
- Experience with Embedded Linux (Yocto/Buildroot, bootloaders, BSP work) is a plus
- Experience with low-power design and battery-powered products
- Bluetooth LE / Thread / Matter experience
- Exposure to hardware bring-up and board debugging
- Contributions to Zephyr or other open-source embedded projects
Why join
- Direct ownership — your code and your calls go straight to production
- Small team, fast decisions, no bureaucracy
- You'll learn more in 12 months here than in 3 years somewhere slow
- If reading "own it, figure it out, no hand-holding" made you want to apply — apply. If it made you nervous, this role will make you miserable. Save us both the time.
