Job Summary The EHS Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) practices across project sites to ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and statutory regulations. The role focuses on preventing workplace accidents, promoting a strong safety culture, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring environmental compliance. The EHS Officer works closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to maintain a safe and healthy work environment while supporting successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and statutory compliance across project sites.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
- Perform risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and ensure Permit to Work (PTW) compliance for high-risk activities.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training for employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce safety standards on site.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, prepare reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor work at height, hot work, lifting operations, confined space entry, excavation, and electrical safety activities.
- Maintain EHS documentation, statutory records, inspection reports, incident registers, and compliance reports.
- Coordinate emergency response plans, fire safety inspections, first aid arrangements, and mock drills.
- Ensure proper environmental practices, including waste management,
pollution control, and housekeeping.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities on EHS-related matters.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
- ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) or an equivalent Diploma/Certification in Environment, Health & Safety is mandatory.
- NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or OSHA certification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–5 years of relevant EHS experience.
- Experience in construction, commercial interior fit-out, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
- Experience in implementing EHS management systems, statutory compliance, and safety audits.
