Design Executive Commercial Interiors

About the Role

This is the studio's first formal team hire for a Design & Technical Executive – Commercial Interiors, with roughly 90% of current projects focused on multiplex and cinema fit-outs. It is a hands-on role working directly with the founder, responsible for translating design intent into detailed, execution-ready project documentation, developing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), coordinating technical requirements, and building strong knowledge of commercial interior materials, detailing and installation methods.

The right candidate will receive direct training from the founder on the studio's specific detailing approach, technical standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop detailed technical and execution documentation for commercial interior projects, primarily multiplexes and cinemas.
- Translate the founder's sketches, design intent and verbal briefs into clear, accurate and execution-ready project documentation.
- Prepare and independently develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on design requirements and site conditions.
- Develop detailed solutions for recurring commercial interior elements, finishes and construction requirements.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of materials, finishes, fabrication methods and installation techniques used in commercial fit-outs.
- Incorporate design updates, site changes and technical requirements into project documentation.




- Build and maintain a personal technical detailing library for recurring commercial elements and project requirements.
- Ensure documentation is accurate and practical, helping minimize on-site clarification and query cycles.
- Cross-check project requirements against site dimensions, structural conditions and MEP constraints.
- Support documentation required for planning-stage and project submissions, wherever needed.
- Maintain proper document version control, project files and studio documentation standards.
- Work closely with the founder to understand project requirements and progressively take ownership of technical deliverables.

Must Haves:

- 2–4 years of stable, continuous professional experience in commercial interiors, interior design, technical design or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience in technical detailing and execution documentation for interior projects.
- Ability to independently prepare BOQs and quantity-related project documentation.
- Practical understanding of commercial interior materials, finishes and installation techniques.
- Ability to interpret design concepts and convert them into detailed, practical and execution-ready solutions.




- Willingness to work from the office 5 days a week during onboarding and probation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of assigned deliverables.

Good to Have:

- Experience working on cinema, multiplex or large-format commercial/retail projects.
- Background in interior design, commercial interiors, technical design or project execution.
- Exposure to malls, hospitality, retail, mixed-use or other commercial projects.
- Solid understanding of commercial interior construction and on-site execution.

Not a FIT if:

- There is a pattern of frequent job changes, including multiple sub-one-year stints without a clear reason.
- The candidate has 0–1 year of experience.
- The candidate's primary interest is design ideation, styling or client-facing work, with limited interest in technical execution.
- The candidate's experience is primarily in residential interiors with limited adaptability to commercial projects and technical requirements.

Work Arrangement:

5 days/week in office

Compensation:

INR 4.80 to 5.40 LPA
