Africa (LUA) offers bimonthly, mode-agnostic coverage of logistics developments across air, sea, land, and rail in Africa with region- and vertical-specific insights. The company also produces conferences, videos, social media content, and hosts the annual STAT Times International Award for Excellence in Air Cargo, providing a strong platform for industry engagement and thought leadership.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Correspondent role. The Correspondent will research and report on developments in air cargo, logistics, aviation, and related sectors, generating news stories, interviews, and analytical features for print and digital platforms.
Daily responsibilities include monitoring industry trends, attending events and briefings, conducting interviews with stakeholders, and verifying facts and sources. The role involves collaborating with editors,
contributing ideas for coverage, meeting publication deadlines, and adapting content for multiple channels such as magazines, web portals, newsletters, and social media. The Correspondent will be expected to maintain professional relationships with industry stakeholders and uphold high journalistic and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Strong written communication skills, including transparent Writing for news and features.
- Effective Communication and Customer Service skills for engaging with industry stakeholders, sources, and readers.
- Robust Research skills to gather and verify information, analyze trends, and develop accurate, insightful stories.
- Awareness of politics and policy-related developments impacting logistics, aviation, and supply chains.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, Economics, Political Science, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in reporting, business journalism, or B2B media is an advantage; familiarity with logistics or aviation sectors is beneficial.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, manage multiple assignments, and adapt content for print, web, and social media.
- Proficiency in English; strong editorial judgment, ethical reporting practices, and attention to detail.
