Job Summary The Consultant – SAP ABAP is responsible for delivering end-to-end SAP technical solutions, including design, development, and implementation. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in ABAP, the ability to handle complex requirements, and active collaboration with functional and business stakeholders. The consultant is expected to work independently, contribute to project success, and mentor junior team members.

This position is specifically for SAP Adobe Forms development. The consultant is expected to design, build and support print and interactive forms together with the driver programs and output determination around them, and to resolve rendering and output issues across the landscape.

Key Skills

- 3-6 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience, with at least 1-2 years of hands-on Adobe Forms development.
- Hands-on form development using Interactive Forms by Adobe (SFP) - form interface and form context design, data binding and context conditions.
- Adobe LiveCycle Designer - master and body pages, flowed and positioned subforms, pagination and overflow, repeating tables, dynamic versus static forms.
- ABAP driver programs that call the generated function module and control form output.
- Scripting in FormCalc and JavaScript across form events.
- Adobe Document Services configuration and troubleshooting of rendering failures across the landscape.
- Output determination and print output - spool handling, print controls, device types and barcodes.
- Multi-language forms,



translation and font handling.
- Reports (ALV and classical), Data Dictionary objects, data migration programs, and enhancements using BAdIs, enhancement spots and user exits.
- Object-Oriented ABAP (Design Patterns) - classes, interfaces, inheritance and exception handling.
- Debugging, code optimisation and performance tuning.
- SAP development standards, unit testing, code review and transport management.
- Good understanding of code pushdown and how to write database-efficient ABAP on SAP HANA.
- ABAP Development Tools (Eclipse) along with SAP GUI - optional.

Good to Have

- Offline interactive forms - usage rights, submit by email or HTTP, and reading returned data back into ABAP.
- S/4HANA Output Management with BRF+ and the Manage Output Items Fiori app.
- Digital signatures on interactive forms.
- Country-specific statutory and e-invoicing layouts; SAP Document and Reporting Compliance.
- SAP certification in ABAP.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyse functional specifications and layout requirements, prepare technical designs, and raise gaps or clarifications before development starts.
- Build print and interactive forms to brand and statutory layout requirements, and drive layout sign-off with the business.
- Design the form interface and driver program so that data selection is efficient and reusable across output channels.
- Develop, unit test and document forms and supporting ABAP objects as per SAP development standards.
- Configure output determination alongside the functional consultant and own the technical side of output failures.
- Test against realistic data and edge cases - long text, multi-page tables and zero-item documents - before handing to SIT.
- Maintain layout version control and correct transport of form and interface objects across the landscape.




- Work with functional consultants and business users to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Resolve SIT, UAT and post-go-live defects within agreed timelines and record the correct root cause.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure quality standards are met before transport release.
- Prepare technical documentation and support knowledge transfer to the support team.
- Support the full project lifecycle including implementation and support.

- Excellent oral and written communication; able to explain a technical position clearly and concisely.
- Understands business processes for the modules in scope and the touch points between them.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and work through detail.
- Ability to interpret requirements and apply SAP best practices instead of replicating legacy design.
- Aptitude for working in a team, strong time management, and collaboration with all levels of staff.
- Ability to work independently on assigned deliverables and guide junior team members.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
- At least one full-cycle SAP implementation or a substantial support and enhancement engagement.
- Experience on SAP S/4HANA - preferred.
- Willingness to travel to client locations and work shifts aligned to client geography.
