About the Role
We are seeking a CFD Engineer with 2-5 / 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Ansys Fluent. You will be responsible for executing CFD projects across a broad range of industrial applications — from problem definition and analytical estimation through meshing, solver setup, validation, and reporting. The role also carries a strong focus on simulation automation, using Python and PyFluent to build parametric, repeatable, and scalable workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute CFD projects through the complete lifecycle: problem definition, analytical estimation, geometry preparation, meshing, solver setup, convergence, post-processing, and reporting
- Derive boundary conditions from datasheets, component performance curves, and first principles
- Conduct mesh-independence and validation studies against theory,
test data, or published benchmarks
- Develop and maintain PyFluent-based automation for parametric sweeps, batch runs, convergence monitoring, and results extraction
- Convert recurring manual workflows into scripted, version-controlled pipelines
- Prepare technical reports documenting assumptions, methodology, results, and limitations, and present findings in client reviews
- Collaborate with FEA, DEM, and electromagnetics teams on coupled and multi- physics problem.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or a related engineering discipline
- 2-5 / 5 -8 years of professional CFD experience with Ansys Fluent as the primary tool
- Solid fundamentals in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics,
including analytical estimation through hand calculations and dimensional analysis
- Practical experience with turbulence models (k-in SST, realizable k-e, Spalart-Allmaras), including model selection, near-wall treatment, and y+ requirements
- Proficiency in Fluent Meshing (watertight and fault-tolerant workflows), poly-hexcore and polyhedral meshing, inflation layers, and mesh-independence studies
- Sound solver judgment: pressure-based vs density-based solvers, SIMPLE and Coupled schemes, discretization settings, and convergence assessment using solution monitors and flux imbalances
- Rigorous boundary condition practice, including correct application of pressure, velocity, and mass-flow boundaries with traceable sources
- Geometry cleanup and defeaturing in SpaceClaim, Discovery, or equivalent
- Working proficiency in Python (NumPy, pandas, matplotlib)
- Hands-on experience with PyFluent (Ansys Fluent core ) for session control, meshing and solver workflows, parametric studies, and programmatic results extraction; journal/TUI scripting experience will also be considered
- Familiarity with Git-based version control
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to the wider PyAnsys ecosystem (PyMechanical,PyDPF, PyAnsys
Geometry)
- Experience with DOE and optimization tools (DesignXplorer, optiSLang)
- Exposure to LESJDES and transition modelling
- DEM coupling or fluid-structure interaction experience
- HPC or cluster job submission and Linux command-line proficiency
- Experience in preparing validation reports against experimental data
