Company Description The Hornbill Co. is a brand and digital strategy studio that partners with founder-led and specialised organisations to build transparent, coherent, and intentional brands. The studio views branding as a structured translation of an organisation’s thinking, positioning, and operations into systems that are understood consistently across all touch points.

Hornbill helps clients clarify their positioning and turn it into robust brand communication systems and a cohesive digital presence across social media, websites, and founder-led channels. Applicants will join a team focused on strategy-led design and communication that emphasises clarity, consistency, and meaningful brand expression.

Role Description As a Communication Design Intern, you will support the development of brand communication systems and visual narratives for client projects.

You'll work across a mix of:

- Social media design for Hornbill and select clients
- Carousel and editorial content design
- Presentation and strategy deck design
- Visual research and moodboards
- Adapting existing brand systems across formats
- Preparing and organising design files




- Occasional website and other communication design tasks

This is a hands-on production role, with exposure to brand strategy, identity, communication design and real client projects.

We're Looking for Someone Who

- Has a good eye for typography, composition and visual hierarchy
- Is comfortable working in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva
- Has an interest in branding and communication design
- Can follow an existing visual direction while also making thoughtful design decisions
- Is organised and dependable with deadlines
- Is comfortable receiving and incorporating feedback
- Can work independently once a brief has been given
- Is curious, attentive and interested in understanding why something is designed a certain way

You don't need extensive professional experience. A strong portfolio, student projects or personal work are absolutely welcome.
