Kofuku is building a social platform for the healthcare community, connecting healthcare professionals and users in a trusted digital environment. We are focused on creating a platform where healthcare information, conversations, content and product experiences are clinically responsible, safe and aligned with applicable healthcare and digital-health requirements.
About the Role: We are looking for a Clinical Safety & Compliance Specialist who understands both healthcare and the digital/social-media ecosystem. This is a cross functional role spanning Clinical Safety, Digital Health, Compliance, Social Media, Content Governance and Product Safety.
You will work closely with Management, Legal, Product, Technology, Content, Creative and Community/Moderation teams to identify risks, challenge assumptions, guide decisions and build safeguards that make Kofuku a safer and more trustworthy healthcare platform.
This is not simply a content-review role. We are looking for a critical thinker, risk identifier and problem solver who can translate healthcare and regulatory considerations into practical platform decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Safety & Healthcare Content:
- Review healthcare content, posts, discussions, claims and user interactions for clinical accuracy, context and safety.
- Identify misleading, inaccurate, harmful or potentially misinterpreted healthcare information.
- Assess when content requires review, moderation, restriction or escalation.
- Help establish standards for responsible healthcare communication across the platform.
2. Healthcare & Digital Health Compliance:
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of relevant healthcare, medical, digital health, clinical-ethics and patient-safety regulations/guidelines.
- Work with Legal/In-house Counsel to identify clinical, regulatory and legal risks.
- Flag healthcare implications in campaigns, features, product workflows and user experiences.
- Translate regulatory and clinical considerations into clear, practical recommendations for Product, Content and Technology teams.
- Track relevant regulatory, policy and industry developments.
3. Social Media & Community Safety:
- Understand how healthcare information, medical claims and advice are created, consumed and amplified on social platforms.
- Identify misinformation, unsafe recommendations, sensationalised healthcare information and inappropriate medical advice.
- Develop and maintain healthcare-specific standards for posts, comments, discussions and user-generated content.
- Work with Management and In-house Counsel to build and periodically update Community Guidelines, content taxonomies, potential-harm repositories, objective decision frameworks and representative sample datasets.
- Monitor emerging healthcare conversations, social-media trends and misinformation patterns to identify risks and opportunities for Kofuku.
- Collaborate with Content, Creative, Social Media and Moderation teams to ensure healthcare communication remains both responsible and engaging.
4. Product, Technology & AI Safety:
- Partner with Product, Engineering and Design teams to assess clinical, regulatory and user-safety risks in features and workflows.
- Challenge product assumptions where they may create healthcare or regulatory risks.
- Recommend safeguards such as warnings, restrictions, reporting, moderation, escalation and verification mechanisms.
- Provide clinical and healthcare perspectives during product development and decision making.
- Think creatively about how technology and emerging tools, including AI, can solve healthcare-safety challenges rather than simply restricting functionality.
5. Research, Governance & Innovation:
- Research how leading healthcare and social platforms address misinformation, safety, content governance and regulatory challenges.
- Stay current on Digital Health, Healthcare Social Media, AI in Healthcare, Patient Safety, Healthcare Misinformation, Healthcare Regulations and Online Healthcare Communities.
- Identify emerging risks before they become significant platform issues.
- Bring evidence-based and unconventional ideas to strengthen Kofuku's safety, trust and community governance frameworks.
What We Are Looking For
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in healthcare, HealthTech, Digital Health, Medical Review, Healthcare Compliance, Medical Content, Medical Affairs or related fields.
- Strong healthcare exposure with limited professional experience may also be considered.
- Degree/background in MBBS, BDS, PharmD, B.Pharm, Nursing, Allied Healthcare, Public Health or a related discipline preferred.
- Basic understanding of healthcare/digital-health regulations, clinical ethics and patient safety.
- Understanding of social media, online communities, digital communication and healthcare content.
- Experience reviewing healthcare/medical content on digital or social platforms is an advantage.
- Strong research, evidence-evaluation, communication and problem-solving skills.
The Kind of Person We Want:
- Inquisitive: Constantly asks “Why?” and “What could go wrong?”
- Critical Thinker: Challenges assumptions using logic, evidence and research.
- Digitally Aware: Understands how people consume, interpret and interact with information online.
- Social-Media Savvy: Understands trends, content formats, communities and how information spreads.
- Healthcare-Minded: Recognises the sensitivity and responsibility of healthcare communication.
- Creative & Unconventional: Finds recent ways to make a digital healthcare community safer without unnecessarily limiting it.
- Technology Curious: Interested in AI, digital health, social platforms and emerging technologies.
