Lead high-impact urban afforestation projects across India with emphasis on Miyawaki combining botanical expertise with community-oriented environmental restoration. You should be able to manage end-to-end field operations, nursery procurement, and ecological monitoring in a dynamic NGO environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct soil, climate, site assessments and site surveys.
- Prepare plantation plans, species selection and technical reports adhering to Miyawaki standards.
- Manage vendor negotiations and coordinate with nurseries for procurement of healthy native saplings.
- Monitor plant growth, maintenance schedules, pest/disease issues, and prepare weekly reports with documentation.
To facilitate community engagement and guide volunteers or corporate partners during afforestation.
Required Qualifications and expertise
- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Botany, agriculture/horticulture, Plant Sciences, Environmental Science, Forestry, Biodiversity, or a related field
- Prior work or practical knowledge of the Miyawaki method will be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work outdoors PAN India Level.
Experience
- 5 years of relevant experience in botany, afforestation, urban forestry, ecological restoration, biodiversity, nursery management, or environmental projects[H2] for candidate holding a Bachelor’s degree.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience for candidate holding a master’s degree.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of plant health, soil science, pests/diseases, and species selection and biodiversity conservation.
Ability to manage field operations independently with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Valuable documentation, analytical and reporting skills.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
